I know its technically not sewing but its closer to sewing than garbing.

i want to get some soles to add to my hand  made boots.
I calling around to shoe repair places but I was wondering if anyone knew a good online source.
So far I've only found soles for motorcyle boots, hiking boots and Huggs.

This is the only one I can find right now, but I will keep looking. They do have non-tread soles and treaded soles.

One question I do have is, Are they leather or cloth? If they are leather sodhopper has some stuff he calls "Goop in a bottle" if I remember correstly and all it is Barge Cement and ground up car tires. Seems to work well for him and his shoe/boot business but Im taking that info from his website.
Here is the website if you want it.

You guys are wonderful.
Well I did a lot of searching online and couldn't find a decently priced place to replacement soles so I figured I would call some cobblers.
Well apparently you have to take a personality test to be a cobbler and if you are not a jerk they don't let you become one.
I called 8 cobblers and before they even knew what I was looking for they were rude and condescending on the phone.

So I decided to make my own soles with my laser cutter engraver.
I made the outer sole out of a textured rubber material we use on flooring on boats, I also cut a foam insert and a leather one which will go between the bottom of the boot and the back of the outer sole.

lady serena you must be a mind reader.
I had come across the goop in a bottle a few years ago and thought about it when I started working on this. spent days looking for it and couldn't find it, and then you post the link. If I could Id hug you through the internet verse.

I am hoping to post results by the end of the week.

You are most welcome. :) I can't wait to see the pictures, as I have been throwing around making my own boots, but it will have to wait until I have the funds to do so.
