Help, help, help.

We have one more weekend before opening.

I desperately need help in the Patrons campgrounds. First priority is the work within the Faire area (staining benches, painting signs, grounds cleanup, etc). If we have any extra folks, here is what I need help with:

Painting/staining the campgrounds ticket booth. I have an airless paint sprayer and can move my generator to the area if one isn't otherwise available to power the paint sprayer. If needed, I'll purchase the stain/paint. I just want the booth to look great as it's the publics first look at the Faire if they are camping.

Ticket booth electrical: I need two exterior spot lights installed, interior lighting, and interior 120V receptacle installed. If necessary, I'll pay for the material myself. I believe that the Faire will supply the generator for the back porch. I need the installer to give me a list of material and I'll head to Home Depot in Bastrop.

General/open campgrounds area: Since we don't have a bulldozer available to flatten out the area and pull-out all the limbs and debris stuck in the sand, we will have to resort to a more manual method. Need 4-wheel drive vehicles with nobby tires to drive all over the area to flatten out the bumps and pull out the debris. Hey, this is like a tractor pull. Come show us how "manly" your machine is. Bring chains, straps, ropes, etc.

General/Open campgrounds firecircle: I've selected the area that will be best for this event. It has a large open area and a debris berm (pile of sand) that would be great for the drummer area, so that the drummers will be elevated and have a good view of the dancers and fire. Only problem is that the berm has lots of tree debris in it, so I need vehicles to pull out the wood. I'll move the stones from the stone circle in Faire to the campgrounds firecircle, as Eric has better stones for the Seven Sisters circle. Need mass amount of folks with chain saws to cut up all the dropped trees and stack the wood for the fire circle. There is also an adjacent berm that needs to have the debris removed and the sand moved over to the drummer mound.

Campgrounds emergency vehicle bypass road: There is a road that cuts between the Participants access road to the right of the ticket booth and connects above the cross roads into the reserved campgrounds and on into the Faire area, as I anticipate the main source of road blockage will be pop-up and small travel trailers trying to make the sharp turn into the general/open campgrounds. I need to build two "bump" gates. This involves planting treated 4x4 posts and metal "U" that will have bolts and washers that will have horizontal 2x4's connected to form the gates (plus some grease to make things move smoothly. Again, if I have folks who will construct these gates, I'll purchase the material.

If I don't have any volunteers to accomplish the above, I will attempt to get as much done as I can by myself. I'll purchase some chainfalls/comealongs to pull out debris.

This coming weekend I'll be totally involved in completing the Patrons campgrounds. If you are a Participant with questions about the Participants campgrounds, please contact any staff member and they can contact me by radio.

Oh yeh, did I mention - HELP!

Hi Mike.  I'll be available for most anything anyone wants me to do, probably beginning Saturday.  I need to see Brian that day and I have a little "fine tuning" at my Wagon, but I'm perfectly willing to help you however I can.

Blush.

Thanks folks.

I now have Alex taking care of the ticket booth electrical installation and more and more folks stepping up to help in the general/open campgrounds. I am humbled by those stepping up to help.

This will be a very busy weekend, but I figure that at the end, we will have a greatly improved area.

I purchased a couple of 2 ton come-a-longs and 100 ft of rope today to assist in pulling out logs.

I hate to post this but...
Sadly I will not be able to make it back out to Sherwood this weekend as I had thought I would.
Thanks to Direct TV charging me $800 dollars for equipment THAT THEY HAVE RECIEVED from me already (their own records show they have recieved it) my weekend plans just collapsed.
I hope to still be able to make opening, but at the moment even that isn't sure.
To say I am pissed it putting it very mildly.
Stay away from Direct TV folks, they WILL withdraw money from your account without permission.

*this even cut into my rum budget*
