Just in time for St. Patrick's Day, McNamara's Irish Pub & Restaurant has taken over the Plantation House restaurant site, hoping to make Donelson a destination for a bit of Ireland.

Proprietor Sean McNamara leads the ownership group, having established himself by playing Irish music at different establishments in the Nashville area since 1995.

"I'm taking 15 years of Irish pub experience and incorporating what I've seen work, and I've tried to incorporate that,'' McNamara said.

"It's a true, authentic Irish pub and restaurant from the moment you walk in — from the décor, to the music and hospitality.''

I know it's short notice, but some of us are getting together TOMORROW (March 14th) at 4:30 at McNamara's Irish Pub. We usually hold Sunday Guinness at Dan McGuinness, but we're trying out this place since Sean McNamara is awesome!

Everyone's welcome! We'll be there for dinner and some may stay for music!

It's a neat place. I was there several years ago when it was still the Plantation House.  I'd like to go there sometime just to see it. I'll be atwork Sunday so have fun.

How was the new pub?

It was pretty good! The food was good and the music was of course good. Apparently they take reservations most days for tables downstairs where they play and they were all booked. Now we know for next time to call ahead and get some tables! The bartender told us it gets PACKED Friday and Saturday nights and that you can't hardly walk around. Looking promising for the M'Crack/R/F Meet n' Greet Friday night of the invasion weekend...especially if we can reserve a few tables downstairs.

This was exciting news which added to the announcement that Sloanwolfe has been booked for Tennren!


The Irish luck is working for this little Lass today which is greatly appreciated!

Sunday nights are family nights - Sean doesn't sing his more bawdy tunes - those are for Friday and Saturday I think you should go ahead and call/make reservations now if you want them for Sunday, just in case.
