AS for Hat Patterns, one cannot go wrong with Lynn McMasters' patterns. There are a few more I plan to order after the holidays.

I di suggest ordering Buckram and Millinery wire from http://www.judithm.com/

I order the http://www.judithm.com/shop/?page=shop/flypage&product_id=1766&category_id=cadeffee6352125969c1967cce03b843 Heavyweight Crown Buckram for hats. Sturdy, one needs one layer rather than 2.

Prices are reasonable for higher quality Buckram and Millinery wire.http://www.judithm.com/shop/?page=shop/flypage&product_id=181&category_id=2f55f998bce0440094fb4acd568d08af 18 or 19 guage wire is preferred.

Hope this helps because the fabric stores do not carry good quality Buckram. Plastic canvas works well for some types of hats, but not all hats.

I know this thread has been dead for a little while, but I too need some help.  I am trying to make the Tall Hat in Margo Anderson's accessories patterns.  It is requiring me to cut 1D, 1E, and 1F out of plastic canvas.  I don't think I have lost my mind or part of my pattern, but I can't find these pieces.  Please help!  Many Thanks, Lord Marcello

I have them in my accessories patterns, are you part of Margo's Yahoo Group? I would suggest speaking with her directly and perhaps she can send you a link on it!

Thank you all for responding!

Lady Cathleen I love the curved Elizabethan you made for your granddaughter.  I will have to check out Lynn Master's patterns.  I have her spiral sleeve pattern.

Cilean I am not a member of Margo's yahoo group.  I should be as I have several of her patterns.  I am not sure how I ended up missing those pieces.  I am currently trying to make it work with what I have and its turning out to be problematic. Not sure her pattern is really the shape I am looking for.

FYI... I have seen the Butterick "Elizabethan Hat" made up and it is way too big at the back.   It really looked like a helmet with a very fluffy veil ...  at least that is the way this particular wearer put it together.
