Optiomn 3) Make the dress!   ;D ;D

I'm seriously thinking of pulling that out of the stash this weekend.  I want to do it tonight but got pulled into a last minute thing after work.  :(

I do have left over velvet, and I have LOTS of white cotton fabric, and I have lots of pearls and left over white with gold roses trim....  DANG it I'm suppose to do stuff to make the UFO list get smaller. Not get bigger!
It is kind of strange watching your personal history become costume.

Yeah, but you need maternity garb anyway, and this will help diminish your stash. It's a win-win!

LadyStitch

If it diminishes the stash that IS a good thing.... right?  :-\

While attending MARS CON for the day on Saturday between Panels, Elizabeth and I took a trip over to SR Harris. There I bought two remnants of the most lovely Maroon and Gold Brocade(just under 7 yards at $6 a yard, Reg. $28 yd.) to make my Daughter's Venetian gown...

While not exactly latter 16th century the colors were perfect in my eye for this gown...

She will have recovered much of her figure by late September after having her first child. Being a Doctor of Chiropractic, my daughter's "wenching" days are over. She will be elevated to M'Lady Adrienne of Eden Prairie.

That venetian is spectacular. I have put mine aside since the fall, I wasn't too thrilled with how simple I had designed it. I never realized what a difference the sleeves and partlet made. I love the lace trim at the wrists, and the paned sleeves. I'm so glad you posted that picture. And the fabric you picked up to make the gown in is fantastic! I can't wait to see the finished product.

That Venetian is wonderful. The color is certainly eye catching.

Ok, here is an update on my Sewing list for 2011

•   Remade Flamingo pants
•   Lady Stitch Outfit -- Considering I just made 2 outfits this MONTH for me, I'd call this fulfilled, at least somewhat.
•   New Sir Roland outfit
•   Sewing kit pouch (UFO- 3 months)
•   A Fleece Lined Cloak for SIL (UFO-6 years)
•   Dicken's vest for Roe (UFO-9 months)
•   PP new vest
•   New Bowling shirt for PP (UFO-1 year)
•   Nephew's Knight outfit (UFO-2 years)
•   Pleated skirt for me (UFO 1- year)
•   Patchwork skirt for lady stitch (UFO-6 months)
•   The patchwork leather cloak for PP (UFO of 9 years)
•   Little cavalier hat for Quizzik - Actually found someone who makes them, and could do it cheap.
•   A vintage style dress for me
•   Baby Bibs (On hand Gifts) several made up, but always could do more to sell, and have on hand.
•   Finish that Tudor style Purple velvet dress (UFO of 12 years)- This is now too small for me.  I'm tempted to put it up for sale/ trade. It is a size 12.
•   Strawberry child's dress (UFO-1 year)
There is alot of UFO's on there, since that is my personal challange this year, but I hope to get a good dent in this very soon.  ;D
Ok I got this updated.  I could cross something off, but I will need to change my plans for this year around.  And add things for fuzzlet and I. I want good looking maternity clothing, and I want to make fuzzlet  cloths to wear when he/she comes home and for the holidays.  Oh and we decided to make PJ for everyone for Christmas this year, BUT  we are doing it  by using coupons, and a family per month so we are not hurried come Christmas.  My goal is to have them done by Labor day. (take that as your will :) )

I only have a handfull of new projects yelling at me this coming year, I cant do too much because my work stuff comes first and that has been put off because of having my shoulder fixed in November.

So I have
Nice over dresses for mom ( I'm thinking of a variation of Italian) I made her two for Christmas, but I want to make another more Irish style

Maybe attacking a new bodice- my leopard print really doesnt fit anymore and I only wore the blasted thing twice!Stratch that no time to be spared for that

And in May a bunch of new breeches, shirts and a few vests for my little guy, he got 2 seasons out of his other stuff since I made it big!Not there yet but I am hoping that he still fits at least something *fingerscrossed*
I have some stuff that needs to get taken in and some others that need to be fixed including a pretty faux fur caplet that I found in The Great Storage Unit clean I am going to line it in ploar fleece rather than the satin it has now that is on perma hold right no

Lady Rebecca

I edited my list, though with the move, I really haven't accomplished much.

Already completed:
-binding stays (UFO)
-17th c gown
-17th c chemise
-Chemise a la Reine
-late 18th c chemise
-knife pleated sateen petticoat
-knife pleated petticoat w/ ruffle
-Medieval cotehardie-esque gown
-Medieval-ish bodice
-Medieval bliaut-ish thing
-2 pairs crocheted mitts
-petal shaped bum pad
-gold escoffion

Still to come for 2011:
-1770s floral cotton robe a l'anglaise with en fourreau back, and matching petticoat.
-1780s blue silk taffeta gown
-18th c quilted petticoat (in progress)
-petal shaped bum pad done!
-18th c lace mitts
-1860s bodice for Mom
-fixing the Queen of Hearts underskirt
-possibly another alternate bodice for my current ren garb This probably won't happen this year, but that's alright
-1890s 1905 look for a picnic in August for me
-late Victorian look for picnic for Mom
-1850s ball gown
-18th c zone front polonaise It's no longer going to be a polonaise. I don't know the exact name, but I saw it in a couple portraits and fell in love.

Dunno what the lovely bonkers customers want, but so far we've been asked about uniforms for blokes...  And there are several nibbles about wedding stuff and mundane clothing.

Changed my mind about garb for this year....thinking I would really love to do some fantasy-like garb.  Sorta medieval/LOTR/Kahlan/Knights Tale mix.

Pieces I am planning...my color inspiration came from colors on the forest floor in the spring.
Salmon-y/peach, brown, greens, tan and some little touches of pale pink.
-dress with narrow sleeve-already have some peach linen for it
-short sleeve dress that will have full sleeves that will lace in...not sure about what fabric I want to use for this
-cloak with sleeves for cold weather...prolly wool
-a long apron with big pockets on the front...would love to be able to make it out of some sort of suede...but we'll see what I come up with.
-brown wool bodice
-a random skirt for layering
-cowl
-a "magical" satchel
-wide belt that I think I am going to make out of some leather or suede scraps or maybe if I could a cool distressed leather coat at Goodwill that would be great.
-a velvet dress that's gonna be kinda elvish looking...Carmel-y cotton velvet
-muslin sleeveless underdress...already have

That's it.  I figure that I can mix and match all these pieces to make outfits for the whole season and be comfy in about any weather.  And since I'm still losing weight and don't really want to be waiting until a few weeks beforehand to try and figure out making a corset and then making alterations and all that.

Yeah Garb!!!!!
