Boot Repair?

I have a pair of boots I bought for faire, that I love.  They've also served me well as snow boots.  However, the last time I wore them I got quite a surprise when I stepped in a puddle: the soles of both boots have cracked, right across the ball of the foot area!  They have glued-on molded plastic soles, so sadly the shoe repair shop can't help me.

Has anyone ever tried "Shoe Goo" for fixing something like this?  From what's written on the package, it sounds like it should work, and that I might even be able to coat the entire bottom of the sole with it to give them some traction.  I'm curious if anyone has experience with this product, or could perhaps recommend something else to try?

I have used Shoo goo to fix sneakers that start to pull out and stuff like that but never to fix a crack in the sole although it probably will work.  The stuff works great for fixing sneakers.  I have a pair now that I need to find my Shoo Goo and get them fixed as the toe has pulled away from the bottom but otherwise the sneakers are fine.  Good luck and I'd be interested to know if it works on the crack.
Why can't reality be more like faire?

Shoe goo is fantastic stuff!  It would probably work for this; however, have you considered glueing a thin piece of leather onto the bottom of the sole?  If possible, you could use contact cement (or Shoe Goo) to seal the crack and then contact cement the leather on the bottom.  Just a thought!

I used Shoo Goo to put the sole back on my winter boots (it came off in one big piece!)  So far, no leaks  :-*

I addition you may want to look for seam sealer for tents.
