How to Train Your Dragon

- The main character was likable as was the dad
- Good animation.
- Storyline was pretty solid, if not predictable. Would have been nice to get the girl involved in the side plot sooner in the story.
- I'd probably watch a sequel.

I loved how to train your dragon  



  Your Highness: 1.5 out of 5, for many of the same reasons the critics panned it, and I rarely agree with critics.  

~Painfully bad script, really lame jokes.

~All the actors were good; except the two lead characters (a failing shared by many Nickolas Cage movies).

~Too many scenes that made you say 'WTF?'  Best I can figure they were trying for shock value.  Icky does not necessarily=funny, and the audience was not laughing at any of the above.  
 

 On the positive side-Special effects were great, costumes and location were stellar.

~ I could recognize the background from back lot images from universal studios.
~ It is a fan boys movie, not made to be taken seriously, just something to have fun with.

If you want something to just laugh your backside off at people who normally take themselves very seriously, check it out.  Just keep in mind it is pure geekieness.

I loved How to Train your Dragon so much that I bought it

last movie I saw was Hereafter- with Matt Damon.
I really wanted to like this movie, and a good bit of it was great.
But it was a lot of build up (2 hrs) for a lackluster ending that left you feeling empty and expecting more

Gnomeo and Juliet: I'm a sucker for animated movies because I am a big kid anyways. lol.. I liked the movie at lot and the soundtrack was good, too. 3.5 out of 5

Just Go With It: Adam Sandler's movies make me laugh a lot and say what you will about Jennifer Aniston; she's just awesome in my book. 4 out of 5.

True Grit: 4/5  for photography, sticking to the book, casting (an actual young girl for the role of a young girl), and Jeff Bridges, who was a muuuch better Rooster Cogburn than John Wayne.  And NO Glen Campbell, which automatically gives it another star.

Tron was just awful. I went with my guys and wanted to shoot myself halfway through.

I think Black Swan was the last movie I saw, 5/5 it's a really great movie.

Gnomio and Juliette - And I gave it a 4 out of 5, incredible humor hidden in the childrens animation and Braveheart Bunnies.

Black Swan - 3 out of 5  - Interesting story but just a touch to slow....

My problem with the Duke is that I never forgot it was John Wayne in the saddle.  Whereas Bridges was Rooster.

I completely agree.  The Duke was Rooster, as far as I was concerned.  And I honestly didn't mind Glen Campbell.  The girl in the new movie was fantastic, however, and was a huge improvement over the original.  And the cinematography was amazing. . .made me want to mount a horse and ride off into the sunset.

Movie I just watched: The Blind Side 5/5, everyone was good in the movie, the story is inspiring, and Sandra Bullock is a great actress.  That role clinched it for me.
