I am waiting

I was thinking of a poem by Lawrence Ferlinghetti called "I am Waiting" the other day and thought the the spirit behind it would make a good thread. Below is a stanza of the poem and a link to a complete version is http://www.think-ink.net/visit/waiting.htm. Each section of the poem ends with "a new rebirth of wonder."

I am waiting for my number to be called
and I am waiting
for the Salvation Army to take over
and I am waiting
for the meek to be blessed
and inherit the earth
without taxes
and I am waiting
for forests and animals
to reclaim the earth as theirs
and I am waiting
for a way to be devised
to destroy all nationalisms
without killing anybody
and I am waiting
for linnets and planets to fall like rain
and I am waiting for lovers and weepers
to lie down together again
in a new rebirth of wonder

I'm not thinking we're all going to as witty as Ferlinghetti (though many of us are capable of it). Just put down whatever you're fed up with or disillusioned or frustrated about, whether small scale or grand.

I am waiting for all the advertisers to make 2 color ads correctly.

I am waiting for a dear friend to pull her head out of her arse.  I think I will wait a life time for that though.

I am waiting for the day that most dogs and cats will be spayed and neutered and the ones that have litters will have good homes for each one of them.  From this same day forth, all animal shelters will be "no kill" shelters and have mostly empty kennels.
