PyroMaster - I am pleased to hear that patrons will enjoy fireworks this year, but am saddened that you and Alan's expertise will not be employed in the production of the show.  I offer this tribute to you, and all involved in this splendid show the past several years . . .

The grandest ren faire in the world literally begins, and ends with a bang! From opening cannon to the fireworks show at dusk, there is magic in the air at The Texas Renaissance Festival. Some days the stars align to bring even more enchantment for us to behold. Here, on All Hallows Eve in 2009, a full moon rose over the eastern part of New Market Village. The fae and fire dancers twirled on the Jousting Arena floor ... then a blast from a large mounted cannon sent a fiery projectile over the pond which exploded, and resulted in a luminous landscape of a magnitude not seen at any other faire. As the popcorn rockets flew up in a synchronous assault on the sky, multi-colored missles rose to meet them in a dazzling competition for pyrotechnical superiority. The noise, colors, and smells are not soon forgotten.

High over the trees, the All Hallows full moon stands sentinel over a salvo of sparkling mortars. The fireworks, in turn, leaving a smoldering gray curtain of gunpowder residue that devour the trees bordering the Magic Garden ... and then drift towards the cheering crowds. A firestorm of wonder overseen by the hazy glow of Diana's orb and accompanied by the haunting melodies performed by Tartanic are a fitting end to a day of otherworldly pleasure at TRF.

(Just to keep it on topic, I'll be at TRF on Opening weekend also)

Sir Martin, I don't know what to say. What an incredible photo. And your words of tribute are well said and very much appreciated.

Thank you, very much.
Do not burden yourself with the secrets of scary people.

I was there that night, and it was the first time my daughter and I ever witnessed the fireworks there.  It was truly spectacular...

Yep, it's easy to layer for warmth but the whole stripping down b/c of the heat thing might have the entire security team at your camp lol.  :o ;D

Hot-Hands and Toasty-Toes... they're amazing!  You can put some in your socks (between two pair so they're not touching your skin) and others in your bed, and they'll keep you nice and warm all night long!  Of course, it helps to have really warm bedding, also!

I can't sleep if I'm cold, either, so I know this works...

And even when I'm down to the last stitch I'd still be too hot, so I MUCH prefer that nice Fall weather!!!
