I have this hat pattern from Lynn McMasters in the 18th Century style. The heigth of the Crown can be adjusted as well as the width of the brim. It can be made with a slight arch or no arch. It's a great pattern.

It's not this hat either.

if you look close her hat is not as round on top as most pirate/tricorn hats. It slops up and whle not round, it also is not flat. I did find a hat that was similar but still it is not close.

This hate is close but not quiet right either.

Toki has a hat blank that is spot on in the crown. The brim would nee the curl in it. I need to contact the place he got it 2 years ago at faire and IF they have that type I will make one. If it works out... maybe I will go into business

The hat you posted Lady de Laney is more from the 1870's Western Frontier. Made from a piece of wool felt, steamed into shape on a wood head form with a brim shaper underneath, specially treated to resisit moisture.

It never ceases to amaze me the hats from the ages and how they were made, the techniques live still today.

As I said Close but not quite right. it is in fact 1870's

The hat you posted is a tall hat and the one Penelope wears has a slightly rounded edge on the crown and a much wider brim that is curled on the edges and then on the left side slightly bent up

This hat looks REALLY similar. It's also REALLY expensive...but a good start!

I should say so.

The expense comes from the techniques used and the time taken to make such a hat. . The higher quality the wool felt is, the better quality the hat.
