I have a beautiful corset I bought from a shop at ORF.  It's a light purple color and the binding is black.

I love it, but ...... I really want to look into changing the binding color.

Would this be poor etiquette?  Or rude to the person who made it (no doubt they would see it at the faire)?  And if not, who would I go to for such alterations?

It's yours. You bought it, you own it, you can do whatever you want to it.  As for replacing the binding... don't know. Haven't ever tried it myself, but it might be pretty labor-intensive. What were you thinking of changing it to?

I'm not sure yet.  There is a gold color in the corset, so maybe one that matches that.  or a light tan.

This I could take it to an alterations place?  Like one that does wedding gowns?

Why not take it back to the maker and ask if they could change the binding?
