Dress like a princess from a cartoon or live action wich one would it be and how would you do it? Totaly like the movie or a take off that still screams that princess?

I would love to be Belle and I am noodling on how to do a more rennish version of her yellow gown.

Who's next?

Here I go - I pick Maddy from the Princess and the Frog and the green ball gown she is wearing looks very fairy tale.  Hoop skirt, pixie cut skirt overlay and the color of green.

Going from cartoon to human princess (I know you didn't ask for human movie princess) but, I have to go with Audrey Heburn in Roman Holiday in the opening of the movie she is wearing a beautiful gown by Edith Head - off the shoulders, just simple and elegant, and with lovely bead work.  Plus, the jewelry and tiara make the gown very stunning.

Just my two cents.

Oh goodness, my sister, my girls and I talk about this ALL of the time!  We would each have a peasent and princess version gown- Aurora, Snow White, Cinderella, Ariel, and Belle.  =D

Well, I've done Snow White (Disney), Princess Leia (Ewok poncho), and Danielle from Ever After (the Just Breathe gown & the ruins gown).  I'm thinking of doing Belle's pink gown (Library) in an 18th Form and of doing a bunch of gowns from the Princess Bride.  The blue robe from the Princess Bride will probably get done reasonably soon.

Anastasia's gown when she's dancing and remembering her family in the palace.

And I love Charlotte's dress from Princess and the Frog. Her giant pink poofy one.

Auryn

I would say Anastasia's gown from the end of the movie- the one she fights Rasputin in- it looks great even all ripped up

I'm with Isabella on the Danielle dress from Ever After. I have always loved that gown and sooooooooooo want to make one.

And I agree with Auryn, the Anastasia gown when she fights Rasputin is also so lovely and I want one.

From Enchanted, I love the dress that was made from the curtains.

I have always wanted to make Belle's dress when her and Beast are dancing at the end.

I know there are more... Hmmm... I am going to have to think some more.
May the stars always shine upon you and yours.

If you do Danielle's dress you have to do the wings

Of course, and make sure your face is painted as close to hers was as possible.

I'm planning to make Jane's dress (from Disney's Tarzan) for Halloween this year. And I've done sketches for a version of Snow White's dress, and one inspired by Aurora's "peasant" dress that I hope to eventually make.

And while not princesses, I've done two renditions of the Queen of Hearts, as well as Alice. http://www.ladyrebeccafashions.com/fantasy-and-character-costumes.html

I'm sure you've all seen Ariel's magnificent Snow White gown:

Every girl wants to be a princess... but I too am all about Sara's ball gown from Labyrinth

LadyMeg

Oh, gosh!  I want them all.  Hehe.  But I'm such a Little Mermaid girl, so Ariel's pink dress would be fabulous.  I'm also thinking of trying to work Belle's 'main' blue dress into the Renaissance era (seems pretty easy, in theory).

Many of you mention Belle's dresses. I just wanted to share some pictures from the Italian "Beauty and the Beast" production, which I saw in Rome earlier this year. The costume design totally blew me away! It was full-scale 18th century style with a flair of Disney. Totally eye candy, and ESPECIALLY Belle's blue everyday dress (with a million white underskirts, so pretty when she danced).

The same design was also used in the (I think) Spanish and Dutch productions of BATB. I wish I had better pictures of that blue dress, it had amazing details and such nice movements on stage. But the golden dress was also da bomb. Want!

Auryn

OMG, the embroidery on the blue every day dress on bell is amazing.
I keep staring at it.
