First off, welcome Naughtyham, Terragleann, and Menegroth to the reserved camping area.

The group/clan leader meeting Saturday went very well. Lots of inputs, most of which will be addressed now.

We are expanding the reserved/clan areas. I have an area that will hold about 3 clans with 20 members. I walked through the area with a possible new group on Sunday, so waiting on their commmitment.

The entrance into the campgrounds will be moved to the main parking area off Old Highway 20. This will eliminate the hazard of exiting the campgrounds and getting onto Highway 290. Now you can drive (sober or otherwise) from the campgrounds to the main parking lot without travelling on a public road.

Once the new entrance is built, I'll post a map of the campgrounds.

Permanant structures - If you desire to build anything permanent, such as a covered patio or wooden bases for tents, submit your plans to me for review and acceptance. For future and existing structures, the group leader must submit a letter stating that the group accepts all liability for injuries caused from structural failures and also acceptance of any property tax liability. For an example of an accepted structure, look at Valhallas structure. It is an open structure, well built, and thus acceptable to Faire management.

The presently planned gatherings are Sept 2-5 and Dec 2-4. There should also be a gathering just before the 2012 opening weekend, when I will allow groups to start bringing in their tents and support elements that will stay onsite throughout the Faire season.

For the Sept 2-5 gathering, I will need volunteers to help clean things up for the Celtic Festival Sept 24-25. I need folks with weed wackers, machetes, tree trimmers, lawn mowers, If you can run a tractor with a brush-hog, you can help me clear the parking lot (takes about a day) and the Participants campgrounds (another day), and areas behind the vendor areas.

The area by the campgrounds to Faire entrance is only for handicapped parking along the fence. Do not park in the area across from the gate, as that is the Dragons of the Round area. Never piss off a Knight, as they have many friends.

Smaller trailers can make it into the General/Open campgrounds. Since the entrance is being relocated, there will be a right turn into the General/Open Campgrounds, rather than the existing left turn with the three trees blocking the turn.

Same thing for the Reserved group areas. If your group has cleared the necessary entrances and parking spots, you should be able to setup in that area.

Otherwise, the two rows in the main parking lot are available. From this area, you can easily enter the campgrounds in car or on foot, as the new road will enter in that area (short stagger distance).

I've gone to too many faires this year. They put peace-ties on my staff to keep me from bewitching anyone, and I think they broke it. The last real rain we got up here was in April.

This is great news Mike!  I am glad that it was decided to make it easier for us who have castles on wheels to be able to get/stumble to/from the main camping area. :)
