The guy that watches my kiddo during faire found a vary nice pair of boots in the ladies shoes at wal-mart. When he was telling me about buying them a guy walked by and looked very oddly at him, his girlfriend loudly said " Gee sweetie they will look great with you COSTUME" So I think the moral of the story is if your going to be boot shopping in the ladies section talk loudly about costuming lol

I ended up getting these shoes:

And these pants:

Shoes were too small at size 11, so I had to order another pair of size 12.  Pants are very big and long, but I guess they are one size fits all and are supposed to be really baggy.  Not the greatest experience so far, but oh well.  Hopefully it all comes together in the end.

Big and baggy pants should be ok.  They sure don't look baggy on the model in the ad; I think I'd like them better bigger.
It's not a big deal to have to send shoes back, it is hard to buy fitted items online!

Thanks.  It's just hard to go cheap and yet still look authentic enough.  :-)

I decided to cancel my new order for larger boots with medievalcollectibles.com.  They've been horrible.  It's been 10 days and they still have not shipped what I ordered.  I think I'll just sit tight this year and wear the boots I already have.

Try the Ren Store they are prompt and very helpful too.

I can vouch for Renstore, I usually get my basics from them.   They did have a brick and mortar store once upon a time, and closed down.   We all pitched a fit and they resurrected their online store.  Fast and cheap! They also have a bigger selection now.

My hubby is one of the guys who gets his boots from the ladies section at Wal-mart.
Only 20$ if you're lucky to have feet small enough; the biggest is women's size 11 (9 in Mens).  Hubby bought plain suede over the knee boots in brown and black.  The leather is soft and very comfortable, with flat soles, and mud brushes right off once dry.
What doesn't kill me-had better run.

Dont forget your water proofing spray! It saves your toes on the colder days

Thanks.  Renstore.com looks like a good option and their prices aren't too bad.
