and thats all I have so far.

Im writing a dialogue essay for my english 2 class. It's to be written as a movie script, at least four full pages. I have to set the scene (realistically) and I think two guys talking at ren faire could be a blast of fun:)

The two guys must be having a "realistic"conversation/argument discussing the benefits/disadvantages of legalizing medical marijuana, with both sides presented fairly.

Of course, Im having to do tons of research on the topic....but I thought many of you, having been to more faires than I, could help me set the scene...design the characters, that kind of thing.

I think it could be really fun, and I dont think anyone else in class will set this scene:) bc I really want it to stand out as original.

any ideas for scenes or characters appreciated.

backstage or in the campgrounds after cannon that is where I would think it would happen.

Try running scenarios through your head, maybe stand up and voice the conversations (probably best when you're alone :D).  Actually feel the characters.

Just jump from one concept to another until you hit on something that stops you cold; then work with that one for a while to see if you can get four pages.

Remember, too, that movie scripts need more visuals, tv is usually more wordy (nature of the medium).

Examples:

2 men, mid-40s, wives are off shopping, scantily clad ladies walking by keep distracting them as they talk about how there is cancer or glaucoma in their family histories and they do not want to suffer in years to come simply because marijuana is not available.  One might have a sick mother and he is actually looking to score but does not know how.

2 older women, one from hippie background who sees marijuana as recreational while her straight-laced sister is coming to terms with the pain of her own illness and does not want to admit that maybe, just maybe, marijuana might help.

2 younger people (male, female, does not matter), one is doing a research paper for class while the other is just there for fun, each having their own conversation running parallel, but not quite connecting.

Just grab some characters and let the conversation come out of their mouths.

Good luck.
