Clan P. will have representatives for the walk through as well.  Still not sure if I'll be back in town for opening or not )o:

There will be some from Rogue Society, our mother clan, Folghea' Mara , our sister clan and at least me from Slow kids at play making the drive for the walk through. We talked about this the other day and have been waiting for a for sure on the date. Right now I think we have four committed to going. Might get a few more since it is a sunday and we can make a day trip out of it.

Yeowch. Hatchet, axe, and saw on steroids. So few trees... Quiet family camping used to have lots of trees in it. :(

The planted pine trees grow quite fast. Plus there are the heavily wooded spots to the left and right as you enter the campgrounds.

Great to see what is going on!

Mike, a few of us from Clan McLotofus will be there on 09/30 for the walk through.  Is the second Quickie Mart at the drum circle or on one of the camping rows?  We traditionally camp rows 8-9, starting from the road and then inland.

The mini-quickie mart (the one previously down on the cross-roads around row 24) will be placed on the old overflow parking area, around row 8-10. It's up to Tom to decide the placement, as this will also will be the location for the medical response team and security forces.

We will have a walk-thru the Sunday before opening weekend (believe that is Sept. 30) beginning at noon.

I'll probably pick up a dozen pizzas if enough peole say they will be coming out. If I only get a couple of folks stating they are coming out, then you are your own. Gather at the parking area by the Quickie Mart at the campgrounbds entrance.

Awesome! I know a few of us from McShuggenah will be out.

Hi Mike,

The site looks fantastic and I can hardly wait till opening (47 days till I hit the campground).  I see that row 1 is reserved for handicappped parking.  Is this handicapped from the campground?  If so, how close to the gates do you think we can get?  StudMuffin doesn't have as long of legs as I would like and the one time I rode him from the campground to the gates, he ran out about 12:30.  I think it was that uphiill run that shortened his stamina.  Luckily I got a push back to camp.  So up to now, I have driven as close to the main path as I can and ride SM the rest of the way.  As the end of the day, I limp SM back to the car and return to Phoenix Risen's canp site.  Do you think I shall be able to continue this for another year or so?

Thanks for your advice...

I'm also interested in this as we usually pull up and park close to the gate in handicap also.
Don't forget to smell the roses, but watch out for the thorns!

I'll be there for the walk-about.  Thanks for all you've done for us Mike!

This will also cover Yrose's question.

Yes, the row 1 is for the campgrounds, as only the campers can get to it.

Alternately, if you want to get closer to the Faire front gate, you can exit the campgrounds, turn right, and go about 100 ft to the Faire entrance road on the right (as shown on my map). That will take you right down to the Faire parking lot and the handicapped parking row you are used to using.

Remember, all this is to prevent vehicles from the Faire parking lot from entering the campgrounds, as they would have to drive around to the campgrounds entrance (and pay for camping).

Does that help?

Thanks for the information Mike.  I'll check out row one and if it looks too far, I'll do as you suggest.  The gate in the picture made me unsure as to the layout and I doubt I'll make it to the preview.

Dang, the anticipation is getting to me...

Mike,
Please count me in for the walk through 9/30.  I'm very excited about most of the improvements and can't wait to see them!!

Get your campgrounds scouts in line early Thursday for the land rush. If ... we will open gate Thursday evening. Otherwise, Friday morning
How early is "early Thursday"?

Thanks again for all!

Well, that does explain why there was a line when I was supposedly early last year on Hiighland Friday.

I shall arrive by noon on the day of thirst then!  And take adequate resources to survive in my car until the gates have parted, e'en if that be an over night in my driver's seat!!
