Echoing Quickie Mart's comments:

Yes, folks tend to move slowly Monday morning. The noon Monday clear-out is necessary to allow the clean-up crew time to gather the trash that inconsiderate folks left. We have multiple trash dumpsters spread throughout the campgrounds. I personally saw one area covered in trash and several teenage campers bailing out of the area Sunday afternoon,

The fire  circle was filled with trash Sunday. I agree we are at fault as we didn't leave any trash containers in the area. This will be solved in the future.

Remember that cleaning up 170 acres of campgrounds takes time. Everything needs to be cleaned up by Thursday to accept the next weekends campers. If campers are pro-active and cleanup their area and deposit trash in the dumpsters, the cleanup will take less time (i.e., less expenses).

Yeah seeing all the trash everywhere as we were leaving was dissapointing.  Some people just don't care and that is a shame.

That is just mind boggling to me...  We always clean up after ourselves, it is just the right thing to do.  But these are probably also the same people who throw trash out their car windows and or drop it on the ground as they walk around....makes me sick!

There is no way that any other person or group can claim responsibility for the inconsideration of others.  Leaving trash is inexcusable.  There are very large groups that camp out there and leave their sites cleaner than when they arrived.

The community really should band together to shame these people into cleaning up after themselves.  It's terrible the way our culture has allowed political correctness to survive.  We'd rather cover our mouths and gasp, then gossip later around the fire, rather than shout at someone, letting them know that they are being an a$$hat and making them correct their faults.  Shame on us I say.
