Questions in regards to flagpoles in the campgrounds:

To whom it may concern:

On Facebook, there is a picture of a Jolly Roger on a flagpole.  And somebody mentioned "the flagpoles were a nice addition".

Are there numerous flagpoles?  Are they located in certain strategic locations for specific purposes? (purposes other than hoisting flags, I mean to grid off camp areas etc.)

Thanks in advance, a clarification would definitely help stop my mind from racing with the possibilities.

They are mainly there for decoration.  We placed them in the main area around the fire pit so everyone can fly their flags.  There are seven now and more on stand-by if we find a large group we missed.

This was also covered in another thread I believe (Otherwise it was in an email), but I can't find the thread.  As I recall, the flag poles are for any groups camped near by to fly flags on.  First group in has the top flag and last group obviously has the bottom flag.

I do remember something in another thread, but couldnt find it myself.  I was thinking it meant flagpoles in the clan areas to stake their claim during land rush, since you guys have years upon years of established clan locations.

Thanks for the clarifications!  Looking forward to meeting y'all Sunday!

Found it!

...We will place the flagpoles every 100 150 feet down the center of the large central area, adjusting spacing to avoid the trees.

Clans/Groups/individual campers may hoist a flag/banner on the nearest flagpole, with the first in getting the top position. Thus every weekend, the display will change.

Recommend your flags/banners be around 3 ft wide by 4-6 ft long, with grommets to attach to the lanyard.

Thanks!

Yep, the flag poles are for clans/groups to hoist their colors. Pick the closest pole. First in gets the top hoist position.

Notice the 3 ft height restriction, to allow more flags/banners on the pole. No restrictions on length.

We will have pirate flags to fill in the empty spaces.

The poles are spaced down the center of the previous Patrons campgrounds from around row 2 to row 11.

Come out this Sunday to see the specific layout and get your group ready for opening weekend.

Strange

Hey Mike,
Were you ever able to get a definitive answer on participants visiting the patron camping areas?
If it is cool, will there be vehicle access from backstage by the Globe gate, or at least parking near the gate?

az

the camping was awesome . just a few minor problems like tons of fire ants, a tarantula climbing up a tent(at least it was the size of one)and the rudest policeman i ever met who told us monday morning as we were packing to "get your sh@t and leave so we can clean up you peoples mess". he was a jerk!

Glad you enjoyed the camping!

Fire ants are a pain but they are slowly getting pushed away. Try to keep an eye out for the little buggers. Spiders? yikes. We are in the country in the woods.

Police on mondays.....

I was out there when he was talking to the various groups.

Sigh.

Sometimes police officers forget their sensitivity training and I do appologize if he was rude. The message still stands the same.

I do not want it to be like this but...

The campground closes at 12 PM noon, it is clearly stated in the rules. Anyone still there after noon is technically trespassing and subject to removal, arrest, towing, etc. Left to leave on their own, campers stay till tuesday or so. They have to clear the campground so it can be serviced for the next weekend and there is a set schedule for this to happen. Abuse in the past has made it so this is the way it is. From now on, on mondays, anyone still slowly packing up and sitting around at noon might be issued a criminal trespass warrant and banned from entering the property for a year. This may seem a little harsh but the same people every week are the ones doing this.
