No Faire?!? :(

Looks like my season may be in doubt before it even starts. Messed up my leg somehow & the doc says no faire for at least a month. HOWEVER, I may just have to be a bad patient & sneak out there before times. Back in 2000, I did the whole season with a broken leg & a wheelchair.

Find a chair, have someone push it to the pub, and relax while enjoying the all day parade!  I'm sure there will be plenty of volunteers to bring you mead and stuff-on-a-stick!

Find a chair(electric), dress it up with some fabric, attach two poles to stick out to the front and find a hobby horse to put in there and it will look like a 1 horseposer chair, that way you can go about the faire without being to un-HA.

Get to the gate about 8:30 and you should be able to rent one of their scooters.  Much better than a manual wheelchair.  They usually start renting them about 8:45 or so but there is a limited number and are first come, first served.  I think they are about $50-60 for all day and have to be returned by 6PM.  Very much worth the money, I used to rent them myself till I got my own ride.   And as an added  bonus, you can try to mow down small, slow children....

I retired from managing the shop. Still get a pass as a perk. Passes have to use the back gate.

Ok, tis official now. Need surgery on the large tendon on the inside of my ankle. 10-12 week recovery.

I'm so sorry, my dear... I hope you'll be able to figure out a way to at least get out there and scoot around on one of the electric things... but if not, I'll be looking at all those photos right along with you, because we won't be able to make it this year, either.

I feel your pain Ravic.  At least I made it opening and had a wonderful time but, alas. it is unlikely I will get out again this season.
On the good side, I saw my surgeon today and he is pleased with my progress.  But no weight on the leg for 6-8 weeks.

Next year we shall make up for lost time!

Annnnd I back! Surgery went well & I am resting quite nicely at my parents in Tomball. No faire this year at all but I should be able to make Sherwood and a full season at TRF in 2013. Now, gonna go back to looking at all the pics from Valt & Paul.

Heck, get us out there and I am sure we could come up with something to keep us amused, possibly at the expense of others.  (No, I didn't say that)

Actually, I am working on visiting sometime Celtic Christmas.  Day tripping only as the campground will be off limits for a bit.  I see my surgeon on the 20th and if he doesn't forbid it...

And with enough ale, maybe I will show off the incision scar.  Looks pretty impressive to me but that may explain why I'm still single.  I haven't even got the oportunity to show it to the Lady I am seeing (yet).
