BTW I'm not sure if it has been updated yet or not but Concilium is camping the pirates weekend( 11/1-3) , NOT bachanal.

It's been two long years but we WILL return this season. We are planning on at least Pirate Weekend and possibly Christmas Friday and Saturday. On Pirate weekend 'twill be Ryk, Jezz the Belle and a crew of daughter, son-in-law and 4 grandchildren (their first ever trip to TRF). Will likely be staying in Magnolia at the motel but hope to visit the campground for a while.

We bought our tickets and have planned on camping 2 weekends this year.

I'm sooo excited! I've never camped at TRF before I looked at the map of the campgrounds and it looks huge! Any suggestions where to set up shop?

Plan is to be there the three big weekends but one of those might switch to highland weekend.  All Hallow Eve and closing camping with Phoenix Risen.  Opening most likely camping with the crew.

In the main area trees are scarce. In the area we are in there are more trees but I don't think they are close enough for a hammock.

We hang two hammocks in our Sherwood camp, but as Teach mentioned, trees can be fairly scarce depending on where on the grounds you make camp.  We used to to hang a hammock in our old spot.  The trees were grouped perfectly for that.  In the area that we camp now we only have one tree and it doesn't even have good branches for a swing hammock.

TRF should consider an Arbor day and plant a bunch of trees out there.  Trees are great for Ren camping ambiance.

 Well- last year I was in the Magical weekend costume contest and won 2nd prize. I thought I won a season pass. That is what it has been for several years and they announced it as a season pass. I got my tickets and there are only 4- so I will be at TRF for 2 weekends. I called and was told they changed the prizes- 2 years ago. I know that is not true because I was there last year on a season pass I won on Roman weekend. Not sure which 2 weekends I will go. yet.Depends on the weather. I am bummed about this.
