Hey all! The lady and I will be camping during Pirate Adventure, our 1st time camping that's not on AHE. I was wondering what the campgrounds were like on other weekends? Same or a little more mellow than AHE? Also, I was wondering if there was any kind of meet up during the faire?

You will need to update the grid map, to show the new "premium" camping area (no additional charge, but really closer to the gate).

The new premium camping area will probably get filled fast from the non-clan campers. Many new clans filling the old overflow parking rows, some with great setups.

I will be out every weekend, patrolling around constantly Friday, helping new folks find the perfect spot and trying to settle disputes. And possibly checking on the weekend menus for each group, just to give an unbiased opinion.

The Faire may be setting up more flagpoles down the center of the campgrounds. If your group doesn't have a distinctive flag, you can purchase a generic one at the Quickie Mart. Rules are that the first group to setup in an area gets to fly their flag at the highest point. The next group will haul down that flag and tie their flag below that one and rehoist, and so forth. No cheating. Be creative on making a clan/group flag. No limitation on size, but be reasonable. Above all, don't run into the flagpoles with your vehicles (the reason why they are not placed by the road).

I now have a Kawaski Mule 4x4 to replace my golf cart, so I can haul 5 or more folks from the campgrounds to the Quickie Mart/Flushies/Showers and back. Just flag me down as I go by. My schedule is flexible, with a couple of tours before gate, a couple of hours in-faire, a noon-time tour, lunch at trailer or in-faire, a couple more hours in-faire, and then a couple more tours in the evening, plus trips to Chaos/Claw/Drunken Gnomes for clan festivities. My trailer is setup behind the Quickie Mart at the campgrounds entrance, so I will be there Friday to wave at folks as they arrive.

There was an aerial picture posted on FB in the Fields of New Market Campgrounds around Aug 9th that showed the "Premium camping" with some pink highlighting. Is pretty accurate. The amount of land that was cleared out (plenty of trees left for shade) is astounding.  From A0 to D(-5) and H(-5) to M0.  I know we're going to be shifting about 1 row up since our treeline back was removed. And Bondage Camp will either have to push back against the fence, or have plenty more space to play.

I'm hoping that those large brown areas next to negative 3 doesn't mean that they F'd up and cut down more trees.  Sweet Jesus on the driving range,  they'll never fill the empty areas they already have... No need to chop more down!

Yes, the brown areas are where they cleared out, but they did not totally level the area.  They left trees here and there much like where Phoenix Risen camps.
