Real Pirates! exhibit at Moody Gardens

If you live in the area or happen to be in Galveston this summer I would recommend going.  It an exhibit of the wreckage of the Whydah, the first authenticated  pirate shipwreck in US waters.  It is sponsored by National Geographic and runs about $16 per person, took us about an hour/hour and a half to walk through.  I found it very interesting, but I love looking at artifacts!  It isn't something to travel hours for, but if you are down here in the area it is a nice little exhibit.

I saw this when it was at the National Geographic in DC and thought that it was excellent.  We also got to see Barry Clifford (who discovered the Whydah) speak and he was fantastic.  I was ready to quit my job and join him as he searches the world for more pirate shipwrecks.

I just poked around on the web site (from your link above), and don't see anything about whether cameras are allowed.

Were there any signs about cameras posted at the exhibit?

I know I was able to take photos in the Pyramids, and of the Dinosaur exhibit they had a few years ago.

unfortunately, no cameras of any kind.  Pretty strict on security for this exhibit, get too close and alarms will sound.  My son found out first hand...
