The Professor

Hello!  I've finally gotten around to registering, tonight so that I could share this message with you all, as you all so clearly deserve:

THE FOURTH STILL UNOFFICAL CAST & TROUPE GATHERING AND WAKE FOR JOE KUDLA

This coming Saturday, August 16, from 7 to 9 PM will be our Unofficial Cast & Troupe and Well-Wishers gathering, yet again (by popular choice) at the Denver Dave & Busters where we've had some very pleasant evenings... Starting at 7 we'll try to keep someone sitting in the front lobby there in case anyone underage needs someone in the semblance of an adult to escort 'em in.  We will say our goodbyes for the season, and, I hope, all join in one common toast to drink to the memory of Joe Kudla, 'Snot,' and wish him well on his way.

ONE SLIGHT and IMPORTANT DIFFERENCE FROM PREVIOUS YEARS!

I have reserved the area where the old MechWarrior pods were, they call that 'The Viewpoint Veranda.'  It will seat 40 of us together so we will not all be scattered around, as we were last time.  We have that from 7 to 9, after that, they MAY throw us out OF THERE into general seating.  Just say that you are with Colorado Renaissance Troupe Gathering when you arrive, and they will take you to us, and PLEASE BE SURE to have your bill put on the 'common' ticket.  They'll help us all chip in to pay it.

They are being very nice in NOT CHARGING for the reservation and holding the block of seats, but we NEED TO BE ON THE SAME TICKET and spend a minimum amount on that (in total) or someone will be liable for a rather hefty fee.  I am that someone.  PLEASE COME IF YOU CAN and GET ON THE COMMON TICKET or I WILL TAKE IT IN THE TEETH.

You are all worth the risk.

Here, again, is the location and contact information for Dave & Buster's:

Their Web Site is:

http://www.daveandbusters.com/Locations/default.aspx?Loc=116

Dave & Busters is a nice place, next to the Colorado Center IMAX theater,
also nice, with good parking and a bit easier for the folk of the South and
North to get to.

Address:

2000 S. Colorado Blvd
Denver, CO 80222
Phone Number: 303.759.1515

TO MY KNOWLEDGE they do not outlaw those under 18 after 6, but it might be
worth the youngest set checking that out. We'll have enough adults to keep
you in line, if it comes down to that, or at least people who LOOK like
adults. We know who we are. We'll keep watch to escort under 21 cast
members in for about an hour, so if you'll need an adult to get in, I'd
suggest being there at 7 or not too much later so we can all sit together and
tell stories and lies and other interesting and pleasant tales.  And remember Joe.

Feel free to write with questions, or jeering cries of 'SUCKER!'  Some of us, alas, have already left for Pittsburgh, but all receiving this message are welcome to join us if they can, or will be missed if they can't.

Very fond best,

Rob/The Professor

I very much wanted to include you all of this board in the invitation, your interest in the Faire is so strong and cheerful, the thought of you NOT knowing that you'd be more than welcome just... couldn't exist.

WELCOME and HUZZAH Professor for finally taking that ONE GIANT leap of registering to our place of refuge away from from faire.

I will see if Toki and I can make it, but we have a hiking trip planned for the day up to Ouzal Falls in Rocky Mountain National Park and he and I are in much need of our escape to nature and it's wonder and beauty especially since the weather is reported to being a cool one this weekend.

In lieu of my absence for the party.

Cause, "Cake or death?" That's a pretty easy question.
Anyone could answer that.
"Cake or death?"
"Eh, cake please."

Mistress Charlotte and the rest of the CoRF RF members.

Toki and I are sorry you could not make the CRF Troupe faire. We almost did not go, but the professor pressured us (Well not really) to go, and go we did. It was a WONDERFUL TIME, and I and Toki will say it was one of the best times in many we have had. While we are not cast, or performers, we were welcomed as family since as The Professor put it, we are just as much of the show as everyone else who works there.

We would have loved to see the rest of you there, but we understand that you could not make it. Honestly had the weather not been as bad as it was, we most likely would not have made it, but would have wound up on a 10 miles round trip hike into Rocky Mountain National Park, but the faire gods were wanting us to go to the party. We made a day of it in Denver, and had a very wonderful time with those we did chat with.

Hopefully there will be more gathers, and f not, then I guess seeing all your wonderful faces next year at faire will have to do. But if and when there are more parties, I hope we can all go and have a most wonderful time at it.

Sorry we missed you- we got there shortly after you left. We did get to see a few people and steal some of the forty thousand tickets Tanda won. It takes 700,000 tickets to get the large gummy bear, but at least we had enough to win the Dave and Busters signature toothpick for only 2000 tickets- pretty good deal since it only cost $40 to attain them.
Hope to see you at some point through out the year. I still wear my ren garb so you will recognise me.
I know many of us plan to go to Estes Park for the Longs Peak Scottish/Irish Highland Festival. I guess there will be, like, a lot of green stuff.

See, the weather is what scared me away.  I'm sorry I missed you all, sounds like a wonderful time was had!

Hopefully I will see many of you at Estes Park!

  Demetrius...

I am sorry that we missed you last night. Delaney and I left just after nine so that we could get back up to Loveland before it got too late. Plus, we don't like driving in Denver at night because of all of the Morlocks about. But, I have to say that Dr. Rob and everyone were just great and we all drank a toast to Snot. We had a lot of good conversation and interaction with all of the CRF folks, and the evening really was nice. If you are going to be at the Highland fest, let's meet up for a drink and a talk and enjoy the mountains. til then...keep on rollin'      Toki

Hi, Blushing...  Sorry that we missed you last night there at Dave and Busters. I know the weather wasn't the best, esp. with the amount of hard rain coming down and water on the roads. But, I hope that we will get to see you up at the Highland  Fest. Its a great time up there with a lot of stuff to do. Just remember one important word when you are up there.....Trebuchet!!!   See you then, hopefully.

Shucks, maybe I should have gone after all.  I was just not feeling it I guess--icky weather, and I had a certain book calling my name to sit by the fire and finish it.  I am not too keen on driving in rain after my latest experience--got stuck in a hailstorm outside Ft. Collins that scared the life out of me.

I'm glad everyone had a good time though.  Perhaps next year.  :)

Everytime I see this thread "CRF" and "party" I think it's here at our CRF...aren't you guys "CoRF"?

Some of us do refer to Colorado as CoRF, others as CRF. Tecnically we could say Carolina was CARF since California NCPF but then you would get the confusion of NCRF or North Carolina Renaissance Faire.

I think CRF (Colorado Renaissance Faire) dates back 32 year when it started (going on 33 next year) as that is what I have always heard it refered to and I've lived in this state all my life withthe exception of a few long months out. and been going to the faire for over 20 years. But as I said some of us on the boards do make it CoRF to try and stop the confusion.

So technically we are and always have refered to Colorado as CRF

The Professor

Thank you very much for the kind words, dear Lady and Toki.  You only added to our celebration, we hope that the rest of you will feel welcome to appear next year!  We thought Dave & Busters took pretty good care of us, the food was very good, and if we can't book Rivendell, we did the best we could.

It was sad drinking Jeff out, but we did that, and we wished him well in whatever happens next.  I did take a lot of pictures, and will see about getting at least some of 'em up on on Photobucket.  Sorry we missed you, Demetrius!

Oh, if anybody still wants to get my books (I sold out of the new one!), that's on the web site you can get by clicking on my profile over there.

With my usual fond best,

Avan

I was great seeing everyone for a bit and hard knowing that I won't see some of you till next year.   Sorry I didn't recognize you Lady de Laney and Toki, I didn't link you up with your pictures from here.    And thank you Professor for letting me have the honour of giving the reply.

Capt Gabriela Fullpepper

Tis OK Avan, I did not link you up either, but now we each know. Look for us at the Highland Festival, we shall be milling about.
