A rare 22 sighting ... awesome ... has the USAF picked up the contract? Or do you know. I might be behind, but they are still in prototype mode aren't they?

Nice capture.

Nope, they are in production. I actually had the privilege this weekend of witnessing the 8th certified combat ready F-22 pilot in the world demonstrate some of the Raptors maneuvers.

It is absolutely incredible what this aircraft is capable of doing.  I might also add that it is by far the "loudest" fighter jet you will ever hear too..whoa is it ever loud!

It's the only time I play with the SCA.  This was my 5th year...everytimg I think about what I want to do for my summer vacation this always pops to the top because of all of the friends that I see there and no other time during the year.

The F-16 used to be my favorite bird (fighter) until that FA-18 came out.

Lady Tess, has your dad ever travelled to the Upper Mississippi River valley area? I'm in Bettendorf, Iowa, right on the Mississippi. In winter, we get hundreds of bald eagles. Lots of great photo opportunities, with no need for a passport.  ;)

He said he has not yet, but says he should keep that in mind for the future.

There are winter bald Eagle and water fowl tours at Reelfoot  lake in Tiptonville, TN.
