Well, you can thank a Texas State Representative named Sheila Jackson Lee who decided it was more important to get a bill passed that required these storms to have more "urban" names because it was racist to only name them with "white" names than to worry about things like border security and protecting this nation.

Brought us some showers last night.  Outer bands suppose to move in this afternoon and leave us with lots of rain tomorrow.  Luckily, we're only slated for the outer band winds.  Tropical Storm winds will just miss us by a mile!

When was this tropical depression spotted?

It was considered an "area of interest" by Navy Weather as early as 8/19. But it didn't really pick up speed until 8/24.

Invest 95 is pretty far out in the Atlantic and is not expected to be a threat.
