Thank you I have been wanting to see some pictures from there.

Mistress Charlotte

This is a lovely faire, I am pleased to be part of both faires!

Adam...........There is a gentleman here who dresses just a bit like you, each time I see him my heart skips a beat.......and then falls when I realize.... :-*
Cause, "Cake or death?" That's a pretty easy question.
Anyone could answer that.
"Cake or death?"
"Eh, cake please."

I get the weirdest deja vu's looking at those pictures... Some of it is exactly like Colorado, like the front gate, and then there is the same clothes with the wrong people in them, and then there are things that are very different... like all that grass!

I do have to say their cobble stones look much flatter and more comfortable than ours...

Tanda

I would like to point out that a) they have a very small joust crowd and b) it is NOT 6 feet from the fence, dangnubbit.

And thank you for posting these. It's neat to see, and I agree with Tessa, it's weird to see the same clothes with different people.
o/` I'm a little teapot...o/` No, I'm not, that would be silly. ::)

Yeah I wondered about that. It seems sort of lacking people in the photos. I mean I couldn't take a picture one with out a mundane in them.

And what's up with the people wearing the same outfits... and Dashing has become a Scot and not as handsome.

Do the nobles share clothing? Sheesh makes me glad I don't work at faire... Oh well as Mistress Charlotte says I have the prettiest gowns already... that's because I'm a Queen ... Drama Queen  or maybe some other kind of Queen  ;) that is and EVERYONE know's a Queen has to dress her part.

The Festival  has a closet-full of stuff that is used for cast members that don't have their own garb.  Much of it has seen better days, but it's better to have something that is a bit old and worn than nothing at all.  Those gowns aren't cheap, and aren't easy to make, which is why many of the cast doesn't own personal stuff.

I've been known to loan out garb, but only to those who take care of it.  Some poeple just don't - which is why much of the Festival garb is in such bad shape - and that's why I won't loan garb a second time to those who don't take care of it.

I like making my own.  But then again, I move every few years, and try to work whatever festival is close by.  Not every Festival has loaner stuff, and I'd rather make my own gown that fits my unique shape. :)

Oh I know they are not cheap... just ask my bank account. With three court dresses and another in the works which will be my most expensive to date. Now I admit I do not sew my own, I was never great at sewing, I commision mine to be done by a forum member who is into making them as H/A as modernly possible. As I said I do not sew but I have done modifications to make some better or fixed because of bad design (The copper and black dress being one).

I just think it is odd seeing the same clothing on much different people. I knew you made you own and they stand out in a very good way. I know that many of the dresses are Nobless Oblige which are beautiful dresses, I'd own one but they have bad business practices (They will not return messages). And since I require my dresses to be custom made to fit my body it also makes not buying their cothing off the rack.

The dresses that do tend to stand out more to me ar faire are the ones I know are owned by the person wearing them either made by them or made for them.

And my little comment was meant in jest... No noble should have to share clothing. Only clothing past down to peasants should be shared :)

The clothes have different people in them, but they are not the wrong people.  Our Henry VIII is a fine actor who has been with the Pittsburgh faire for many years, and he plays the role as well, if not better, than any I have seen.  Our Queen Anne is absolutely fabulous, and anyone who meets her is instantly charmed by her.  They are the right people to be wearing those clothes.
