I WON THE LOTTO!

I did - honest!  I got my ticket checked this evening, and I won £11.60!   ;D
Not a sewing machine's worth, but better than a poke in the eye with a wet kipper!

Yep I would need to win the Lotto BIG TIME!! I only really need $4 million USD after all the deductions to make sure my life is okay. Most of that would be for retirement and making sure the boys have enough for college (Yikes).

So saying I won that amount? You betcha I would get:

20 yards of Bevilacqua Fabric!!!

http://www.luigi-bevilacqua.com/home.htm

A retirement home in Ireland
Something old and lovely perhaps with a few spirits would be fun.

And? A 20th Anniversary Re Commitment Ceremony at Disneyland!!  We had a lovely wedding for our first one, but it was very traditional for my family, I did not get to be too crazy except for the purple/silver theme and harvest food. SO for our 20th? I would love to go all out!

Why? Because I am a Princess!! If not the Queen!
I want to have an Elizabethan Grey 1560's  Grey silk Gown and kirtle in white silk satin with Tudor Roses of Lavender and Purple and Silver Fleur de Lys emrbroidered all over the front and sleeves of my gown.  Hubby in Grey Silk as well WITH a cape *hurmph* Boys in Black with red for one and blue for the other. All of my attendants in Gowns of their favorite colors and groomsmen in Black (so they can wear it again) with the matching colors of my attendants. I was married in October so being in So Cali will be grand in our gear!! I want to have local people have their invitations hand delivered from people in Ren Gear and I want them to be hand made scrolls.  To the out-of-towners the scrolls would be in cylinders and sent out via that route.   I want a castle Wedding cake  as well as a Tiered cake.  I don't want fondant on my cakes but buttercream!!!  I would have food to tempt a saint with! and dancing and the walls covered in Silk so that the reception would have purple lights and I would have them create 3 beverages in PURPLE like a Martini and something sweet and a Non alcoholic drink for the kids.  I would have Nannies on hand or at least baby sitters and something to keep the kids occupied, as well as a suite for them to go up to when they become tired. Oh and a wondrous photographer who would have a backdrop of a castle we could have our guest have their pictures taken. 2 years before the event I would send out a 'save the date' with information on how to either purchase, rent or make the specific time period and those who ask? I would furnish patterns (margo's and kass's and tudor tailors for all).  It would be a huge weekend event with passes for all who come for the wedding to go to Disneyland for the whole weekend.   I would estimate this would be about 150,000  and it would be worth every penny

If I had the money to do what I will? This is what I would do!!!

Thanks for allowing me the chance for whimsy!!

Oh my gosh Kate! What on earth could make a machine cost all that? Details! I wanna dream too. :)

Have you not seen the Diamond? It has a stitch out area that is HUGE utterly awesome, but that is not all you have to also get an embroidery program that will make the machine really work for you.  But it is STUPENDOUS and I have the Designer SE, I really can't see spending more now for an upgrade my machine is pretty spiffy so I am happy with what I have but if you can afford it?? GET IT!!  My machine goes through 4 thicknesses of denim and still can do a round hem on silk. I can embroider anything my mind can set up for me to do, and you can use ANY I mean ANY other programs designs by coping it and converting it to VIP3, which takes like 10 seconds, plus?? I can make any font convert to stich.  All you need is the effort of time to learn the basics and store will have classes on this as well.

It does everything but wipe your arse and for those of us who have issues with our hands? It does BLACKWORK like a charm!!! I adore my machine and I heartliy advise anyone and everyone if you have not seen this machine to go and take a test drive!!!

So if you want to check out the Diamond online?
Here it is!

Two things:

a) To know how to sew everything and do it well.

b) A dedicated sewing room.

But, like everyone else, I'm gonna have to win the lottery first!

I was just taking a sip of tea, when I read the first sentence.  And I thought, "My god! She did it!!"  Then I read on, and nearly spit my tea out, laughing.  lol.  Congratulations :)

kate, my rogue read the price of the Dimond  and nearly left a puddle on the floor.  There is a reason I don't go near there.  For now I like my little machine.  What would like is that $900 industrial machine that is like the one I used in NZ.  you could sew through 10 layers of fabric , canvas, felt , lining and more fabric and it would bat an eye.  If my down stairs neighbors complain about my machine vibrating the floor now, that one ..... ;D
Granted they deliver it to your drive way on a pallet.  If you want to return it you have to save not the box but the Pallet!

I'd have to have a nice open sewing room to do this.  But I'm a social person so I wouldnt' want to be too far from my family.  Maybe a half wall that I could still see and talk to people but keep them out of my space.

Hmm proper bins and files to keep things organized.  And a huge closet just mine to put any costumes I have.
It is kind of strange watching your personal history become costume.

Well, it would be nice to have the space to have one of these as well as that Diamond...

A snip at a mere £1,299!   :D :D

Maybe you're just warming up for the big bucks. You should reinvest your lucky winnings into more lotto tickets! :) That would be so cool if you did win.!

For me? I wish oh wish I had a dedicated sewing room. Something all Martha Stewart like with lots of little cabinets and cubbyholes for all my notions , a wall devoted to holding bolts and shelved fabrics. A real cutting table. *sigh* I could go on and on.

I have one...it's cool...my table is attached to one wall with hinges so I can fold it down when not in use...of corse its always in use ;)

If I ever did get a decent win, the first two things I'd buy would be those two machines, and the next a season ticket to a good fair and the air tickets!  Then I'd be gard-babric ordering and sewing like mad for a few months...  :D

If I could have anything   .... right now it would be a sewing assistant who could help measure me and help me think my way through the construction....  I would definitely like to attempt boning, whether in a corset or a bodice....

I want to win the lottery and quit my job so I can stay home and sew all day.

I guess I need to start playing the lottery.
