Talked on the phone with TMI.
Everyone there is fine, still waiting for news for certain on some
houses but they feel confident that it is standing
TMI did take a little bit of damage, nothing to major and nothing the
FIFTEEN people at his place can't deal with readily enough.
He does have quite a crowd and is asking me to post for people to
know they are safe but to please not call with quite so many well
wishes. Power and connection are issues andd even the voicemails are
draining everyones phones. He had to go out to his vehicle to have
power to call out.
They are all definitely feeling the love from us but lets let them
get situated and powered back up before we all call them all with our
offers of support and well wishes again.
When the time is right, they are all going to need our help... Let's
be getting ready to lend it until then.
Also heard from Vandor/Purpledragon, he is also ok. No power like everyone else... but ok.

Okay folks, unless you have actual business on TRF grounds, please do not come out for sight-seeing. We have more than enough work ahead of us, please let the powers-that-be get a handle on everything and get started on clean up.

I'm glad to hear that things sound OK.  That storm was scary to watch on TV - I can't imagine living there.  (But here we have blizzards.)

Take care, and be careful with cleanup.

I've heard from a friend that there is a tree through my house and it is not habitable.  I'm at a motel with a couple of relatives in Louisiana.  We've heard confilicting reports on whether or not the police and National Guard are letting people back into town.  Will probably try to get back in a day or two, but will not have reliable internet for days or weeks.  Still ... I know I'm lucky compared to a lot of people.  Hopefully will still be able to make it to at least All Hallows at TRF this year.

Thank goodness for Renn camping skills....I considered putting on garb for a while...I did real well...got the power back today around noon...the big blast from the hard-wired smoke detector sppoked me a bit...the cat had a good laugh.  Water pressure is still low...but the camp shower is set up on the porch.
No terrible damage...few branches and a couple of crepe myrtles gave it up.

Sorry to hear about your house Martin, I hope you get things back to normal soon.  As of today the hubby and I were without power and water since friday.  After only getting 4 hours of sleep over the last two nights due to the heat we've decided to pack up the dog and cats and head to San Antonio to his cousin's until either the power comes back on or until our companies call us back to work.  If anyone really needs me call Zaubon or Blue they both have a number for me.  I pray that everyone stays safe and that power and water comes back soon.  Love and hugs to everyone.

Marty I'm sorry to hear your house has been hit. Very glad to hear you and Tess had the good sense to get far away. Big hugs to you both!

I'm really sorry to hear that. But at least no one is hurt.
My daughter is still stuck in Cypress. They have no electricity or water and spotty phone service. She can charge her phone in the car but as of yesterday she couldn't find an open gas station. Last she heard Clear Lake had 7 ft of water. So she's anxious to get back and see what's happened
to her house.

My family is starting to head this way from Orange.
A good part of town is still under water and power wont be back for up to 3 weeks.
The only one who actually lost a house was my nephew and his mom. (and that may be salvageble once the water goes down)
They'll be trickling in during the week as they get done with the clean up work they can.
I can't believe some of the pictures I am seeing of the areas I grew up in... wow

glad to hear everyone is okay. I cannot imagine the cleanup in front of many of you. My prayers are with you. And you have hugs waiting for you which I have already packed in the trailer for TRF.

I'm speechless...it's just all so unbelievable. We had a special service at church yesterday morning and we lit a candle for all of our friends and their families whom this storm as affected.  Everyone continues to be in our thoughts and prayers...

Hope everyone got through safely and that you are not without power for too long. We have friends in Austin and Houston, South Padre, El Paso, Richmond and San Marcos. I lived in Texas while attending UT from 1981-89 and my twin daughters were born at Park Plaza Hospital in Houston. In fact, I went into premature labor at the Texas Renfest in 1987. I was portraying a very pregnant noble's mistress. Who knows which one? lol. My twins joined the cast of the Greater Pittsburgh Faire in 2005 and one daughter is now attending Arsene Dupin! How lucky you are to have him! What a great guy! I am severely hearing impaired and until Arsene, I was unable to enjoy any RenFest stage shows. I'm mainly a garbaholic although sometimes I portray Caterina Passero, Italian mama of Jack Sparrow., (Passero means Sparrow in Italian). Deafness not a problem with Arsene and I am eternally grateful. I laughed my French roll off (and I wasn't wearing one) for all the laughs I have ever missed! I also miss Texas (except for the mutant scorpions and the fire ants) and hope you all are safe. My husband and his friends from Pueblo to People used to have a New World Crafts stand at your Fair in the 80's They sold weavings and handicrafts non-profit to benefit campesino groups, refugees, political prisoners, widows and orphans in Central America.

Will now take my weed puller (Bachagaloop) and get back to the Greater Pittsburgh forum.

I have family in Spendora, The Woodlands and Kingwood.  All are safe, but no power.  All have decided to stay there.
