Wanted to share the project I'm working on :) It's been in the planning stages for 2 years.

Most of it's sewn except for the fancy bits on the bodice and the sleeves are just pinned on at the moment. I need to rip out the seams on the skirt to re-do the bottom apron and I still need to do the dreaded hemming.

Next project will be something actually renfaire related :)

Oh that is so lovely and such a delicious copper color with the gold.  I love it!

I love Copper and gold together, so rich in appearance.  what a lovely dress.

Thank you whoever for the  tip on the hooks and eyes to keep bodice and skirt in place.  I just made a new Christmas outfit to wear tomorrow to Mobile and then to TRF and I'm going to sew those in tonight so I don't forget.  I hate when they seperate as I walk.

Job well done everyone, thank you for sharing.

Why do I feel like I've worn something like this before?

Really nice work everyone!

I am finally getting started on my new dress. I have had the fabric almost four years. Cut out some pattern pieces, then I just seemed to always have something else to work on. I changed my mind on the sleeves.....after I cut them out. When I say I barely had enough fabric, I mean JUST barely. I had originally planned on Tudor sleeves. Instead I did Lynn McMasters Elizabethan Spiral Panned. I tacked it together and I really like it. But I have decided it needs some trim.

I still need to get trim for the sleeves so I have moved on to the Underskirt and forepart.

Well done on the sleeves, Lady Isabella! That is a pattern I will have to get. Great idea of sleeves for Gowns and Doublets.

I started another commission for a Client in Texas. Another Wizard that will have a Purple and Gold Silk robe to go with. Then LoTR inspired ensembles for the wife and daughter in Purples and Golds.

Here is the Wizard gown with Gold Piping and Gold pineapple frogs I had in my stash. I cut the collar and sleeve cuff going the opposite direction  to mix things up.

Thanks everyone! I am waiting on some gold trim. The "spiral" doesn't show like I want. I have more of the 1/2 inch gold gimp that I used on the forepart, but it just looked overwhelming. I ordered 1/4 instead. Hopefully the color will work. It really stinks being 3 hours from the nearest Joann's! I had also planned to use some pearl shank buttons where the strips are tacked together. But they are also too big. So now I'm looking for something smaller and "jewel" like. I do have pearl beads if I don't find any jewels.

Lady Kathleen, beautiful fabric for the wizard gown.

I still have to add buttons and trim on the bodice and skirt and hem it of course, but I think it's coming along nicely...

The Lined Wizard's Robe from Purple and Gold Dupioni Silk. Trim is Gold on White. I decided to do 2 rows to set a pattern to the trim so that it would stand out more. I have some hand sewing to finish up on, add some frogs, and this part is finished. I have Trousers and a hat to make yet.

The sleeve.

Being that the robe is long, Silk does not drape well. So I reduced a lot of the fullness of the of the robe so that it would have a nicer flow. It's still plenty wide.
