Love it LadyKathleen
I have a question
you said the silk isn't draping well because of the size.
Just wondering- what would happen if you had cut the silk with the slubs in a vertical direction?? would that help??

The original Robe pattern I wanted to use was so full, I modified it so that there would be some fullness and flow. The Dupioni Silk I used had plenty enough body though quite crisp. therefore, less ability to drape.

Lady Kathleen, you're going to have a lot of new garb on display at Scarborough this year! Maybe you need to relocate!  ;)

Don't tempt me Merlin!!  ;)

Living in Minnesota does have its advantages. But I can't leave my Granddaughters just yet. Especially the youngest one.

Progress on Alerrick's Lady Sorceress ensemble...

The Under Tunic/Gown is a Batik Print I found at JoAnn's . The Pattern has lights and darks to give the fabric flair. The delicate Decorative stitching finishes the Gown. I did the stitching around the neck, sleeves, and hem.

The Outer Robe is a Pin Wale Corduroy in a  deep Eggplant Purple. There was plenty of body, I did not have to line the robe. The center back and side seams were done in French seams. The trim was the same I used on Merlin the Elder's Wizard gown. On the Purple, this trim just jumps out.

Because there are subtle curves on the robe, I have  afew places to smooth out some kinks where the trim did not want to cooperate. Not very noticable, but I want to correct those places. The fabrics and trim was bought at JoAnn's. I keep them in business because I am there just about once a week for something here and there.

Alerrick, another of Lady Kathleen's well-dressed wizards will be at Sherwood for opening weekend...namely me. Perhaps Rengypsy could set us up a runway show... ;)  We'll also be at Scarby at least one weekend...

That sounds like a great idea Merlin. Lady Kathleen will be well represented in Texas this year. I know a few more of you are getting outfits done by her also. I am making plans to go Sherwood this year(opening weekend). Maybe if the fashion show don`t work out, maybe a cold beverage and a stroll through the lanes with us two wizards. Do you know what weekend you are going to Scarborough faire Merlin? I would like to meet you and any other rennies. Thank you Alerrick Afon Adou

Lady Kathleen you are so correct about my Wizard necklace. It took a few weeks to make. Braiding 10 foot of 5 string leather cord and 23 bottles can take a little while. I have not seen another necklace like this one. But it`s done in time for the faires next year. Right now I just walk around my backyard pretending I am at the faire with all of you. I will post pics of it when I figure that out.

Finals are done and I have time to start on my new gown!!!!

Trying to recreate this: http://www.thepeerage.com/341960_001.jpg

Just have a few things to finish on the bodice, then onto the skirts.
I'm not usually a fan of pink, but lately I've got the idea in my mind that I absolutely need a ridiculously girly dress. So Pink it is!  I should be more or less done with it all by the end of the weekend.

As I said, we'll be at Sherwood for opening weekend, and we will also be at Scarby at the very least on April 14-15, hopefully also for preview weekend, and/or opening weekend, and maybe one weekend late May. That's a lot of traveling since we live in central Arkansas. We have to sneak a trip to OkRF in there somewhere as well! Then there's RenDezvous in October....  I'm taking up a collection  :P
