That dress will be quite eye catching. Love the contrast with the stripes.

Loving the Norse Garb!  Wonderful work!   ;D

I have almost completed my Venetian but wanted to share what I have accomplished.

I can't wait to see you in the finished gown with the jewlery and the veil and the whole shebang!

Thank you M'Lady De Laney.

All of this recent work is simply wonderful!  There is too much for individual comments, since I've been away for a week, or so... but I love ALL of it, truly!

I am inspired by all of you, and soon I will be able to act on that inspiration!  I won't clog up this thread with details, but I'm going to go create a new thread with the details, and I would LOVE any input, advice or encouragement that any of you have to offer...  :)  I'll come back here and link it once it's in place!

the other sleeve is beaded and ready to finish. I have the sleeves pinned and the ruffs added for effect.

Now on to the forepart that will have trims similar to the Bodice as beading like the sleeves. I need to order more red glass beads from Fire Mountain Gems next week.

Ohhhh, LadyK... that is truly magnificent!  So much intricate detail... and so much hard work!  Absolutely sublime!  Those sleeves are stunning!

So, here is the link I promised to the new thread I created a couple of days ago, telling about the new addition to our family, and all of the fun and exciting ways we will hopefully be creating/crafting with it!  I hope you'll all come and brainstorm with me, and help me figure out how to best put it to use!

Progress on my gown inspired by images of Mary of Hungary.  Where and how the belt fastens needs a bit of work.  This is why my clean laundry never gets put away, and why my house is so dusty it looks like a haunted house.  I used 3-inch drapery shirring tape to form the cartridge pleats.

Progress on the Forepart since I started it on Saturday....

I still have to get some nice Bottom weight Cotton for the underskirt. The Overskirt will drape over and show off the Underskirt. There will be trims and 6mm pearls on the front panels of the Overskirt.

For the Hat, I am going to make a Taller brimmed Italian Bonnet. I will be wearing this gown for an upcoming Sci/Fi convention in July where the theme is a Mid Summer Night's Dream, where I will be doing Queen Elizabeth I on Masqurade night, as well as to wear at Faire, then another event in October where I mix Women of History and Politics together. For QEI was one of the most regarded Political strategists of her day.

Lady Kathleen - your gown is a work of art.

^^ agreed!^^   I will definitely be getting out my pearls for another set of sleeves..and a new forepart!

Irma..that gown is truly gorgeous, and the fit is flawless.  I like the belt just the way it is, and the clasps complement the lush pattern perfectly... do you have a hat planned to match?

I have that shirring tape, and I will being using it in the future.   I have a burgundy velveteen outfit in the planning.

Thank you, dear ladies.

I do not let my pearls gather dust, unless they are on garb.  ;D

More photos as I progress. I do have to place an order to Fire Mountain Gems for more pearls before the end of the week.

Rowan MacD:  Thank you for the praise.  The belt does not feel very secure.  I tried making keepers out of jewlery wire, but the gauge was too thin.  My plan is to replace that wire with something heavier.  I will be wearing the same German-ish hat and haube as in my avatar.
