Favorite part of the weekend?  All day Sunday. Spending time with friends I see maybe twice a year window shopping.  Spending two hours at the wine shop drinking some yummy mead.  Sitting around enjoying shows.  Finally getting to see the fireworks! (and with a certain someone, no less)  :-)  Sunday was wonderful!

Finally finding a sweat catcher for my head.  No more sweat in my eyes while trying to take pictures, w00t!  After that, getting to chat with some of the people from the forums.

I had so many favorite moments, but if I had to choose just one, I must pick the moment when a special needs young adult woman spotted me and ran toward me clapping and laughing with her arms stretched wide to embrace me.  She was so overjoyed that I spent some time with her, and let her have a photo with me, (I gave her faerie bubbles, and from her I received a kiss on the cheek and another hug in return)

As she was led away, still laughing and clapping, looking over her shoulder back at me, I waved and smiled, but then had to turn my head and regain my composure, because The Ice Queen had a moment that appeared her eyes were melting...

It was truly spectacular for me that I made someone that happy. I hope she never forgets me, because I know I will never forget her. She touched my heart.

A chill in the air, over your shoulder, the Ice Queen's cold stare, you can only be one place. The Texas Ren Faire!

Meeting RedRhonda and Stumblin' John.

Met them in the parking lot as I was eating breakfast: None of us noticed the others' R/F pins, and we simply discussed the contents of flasks and mugs.

Met them at Moresca as Black Bonnie and I were getting me fitted for a pirate bodice:  Still didn't realize they were R/f'ers.

Met them at the $15 Shop: Nope, still didn't know.

FINALLY, met them at the Prince of Wales before the meet-n-greet and all got properly introduced, shared drinks and faire stories.

It was funny how we kept running into them all morning but never got the chance to find out who they were.  We had a nice visit, and it was great to get to know some more people from the forum in person.

I think my favorite time was back at the campgrounds.  We had gone up to the big drum circle and we were enjoying the fire show and we're headed back to our camp, in our truck, and my step-son was on the running board hoopin' and a hollerin' saying howdy and huzzah, when a couple of ladies yell out "can we get a ride????"  So my husband stops and all, including the step-son, pile into the bed of the truck.  We pass several camps and the cheering and woo hoos continue.  Someone from the back told us where their camp was....and that was when I realized the ladies we had picked up were fellow R/F'ers.  I will not divuldge their names or the location of their camp, but it was so cool when I told her who I was it was all crazy and we were hoopin' and hollerin' in a long lost friend kind of way.  We got to her camp and she jumped out of the truck and came around and gave me a big hug and we parted ways.  We offered a ride to a total stranger and it turned out to be a friend after all.

This past weekend my 3 year old neice came for half the day on Saturday.  It was just so much fun to take her around to my different friends and see how sweet they were to her.  Larry, the centaur, let her ride on his back and take pics (it was so adorable).  Then we took her over to the fairies on cast under the trees and she just sat and stared all wide eyed.  They gave her a bunch of little treats and were just so giving and nice to her, she loved it!  And we met up with our friend Eagle Wolf, the American indian Alan, and she just thought he was so neat and he took some cute pics with her too.  It was just great to have all these friends treat her so special and I know how much it meant to her!!

I usually try to see Tartanic at least once every time I go so on Roman weekend, my favorite part was being brought on stage in full Roman armor and having the drummer pin his mic to my loricated armor and playing a set using me as his percussion and the other Roman with me in maille as a wash board.  Its not every day you get to to have bagpipes and percussion surround you that close while playing, unless you are tartanic I guess.  I love their music so it was a lot of fun.

I had so much fun with the fellow RFers that came out! Trading Favors and I received a BEAUTIFUL knife as a gift this weekend! AH! I was speechless when it was given to me. I am very grateful and can not thank him enough for it. I was bouncing around all sunday afternoon from it.

I must confess, that was me and my friend Heather that the lovely RenRobin found wandering the road, and I must say, we really, really needed a friendly ride back to our camp.  It was so funny when we realized who our rescuers were!  Should have known anyone so kind would be one of our forum family!!  Thanks again RenRobin!

Thanks Holly.  My wife and kids were there Saturday, but not Sunday.  I told her, and she said, "I miss all the fun."  She will love those.

Wandering the lanes of your glorious faire ... and meeting some of you ... and seeing some of you again ... and trying (note, trying) to take in everything.  Two days is imply not enough!  I'll just have to move out to Texas.  =)

Thanks for a marvelous weekend!

:D I was walking from the PoW pub and rounding the corner by Ravenswood with Eloquent. Not two feet in front of me something fairly large falls from the tree right above our heads and hits the ground with a very large wet PLOP sound. Eloquent and I both look at this thing in front of us and from this ball that nearly matched the dirt on the ground unrolls a squirrel. It splays out its arms legs and tail and looks at us terrified and complete shocked and disoriented. After looking at us it bolts back up the trunk of the tree and disappears. As this is happening Eloquent is Laughing so hard she falls over on me as I sit there is disbelief saying WTF? as a squirrel almost dive bombed my HEAD!

Possible thoughts of the squirrel,
"OMFG! What the hell just happened?!"
"Ok now they are almost there ok, JUMP! Damn it, they saw me. I was so close to hitting her in the head"
"Man I need to stop stealing sips from unaware rennies at the PoW pup"

Eloquent and I were laughing about that all weekend!
