So my garb withdrawals are kicking about now. Thank god for Halloween. I love the extra excuse to wear my bodice. But instead of just being "normal" I have decided to manipulate my garb into a Mrs. Lovett type of outfit. Wear my black skirt, with my bodice turned out the black side, and a apron splashed with blood [paint] to make it appear more Victorian then Renaissance.

Has anyone else done anything like this? Or other creative costumes using garb?

Well, not our ren garb, but we wore our Wild West outfits to my apartments' Halloween party a few years ago - with our faces ghostly white, black sunken eyes, and a "bullet hole" in Lawrence's forehead.  Dead gunslingers Doc Ghouliday and Annie Ghostly scared the kids and won first prize.

What i'm going to do this year, because I get to wear my costume to work, is to put on black leggings and a black turtleneck(work appropriate ya know) and wear my bodice over the turtleneck, and a green, hankerchief-cut skirt over the leggings, black boots, and a witches hat.  cant wait!

I'm going to wear my basic wenches garb (although quite "Disney-fied") for a school event.  They need me to help with a baking/cookie decorating station so I'll add leather gauntlets to keep my sleeves out of the frosting.

Nothing clever to say here.  Not enough caffine yet.

I am SOOOOOO Tempted tomorrow to toss on my Pirate wech chemise, tighten up the corset, put on my crappy bodice and another skirt, toss on the long belt, hike up the outer skirt and put on a black stripped bandana. Saftey pin my parrot (the small one) to my bodice and go all pirate wenchie at work. But I think I'll put on some black leggings underneath since I may have to crawl under a desk to fix a PC

Tomorrow night, my sister and I are going to all the parties and such in our brand new courtesan outfits.  We chose these cause we went in our pirate garb 2 years ago, the Court gowns are too huge and delicate for a club, and our fairy wings would not be respected in a club either!!  We are hoping to win a prize maybe??

Now my question is, would this be TOO risque for work... I work at USA which is in the aerospace industry, so picture conservative old guys are all I work with!

As long as you have a little extra coverage on top, they can't complain about it being indecent.  I'd wear it... ;D

ya, I was thinking of pulling my shirt up over the "girls" and just tying it higher...

I'm torn between simply wearing my jingly Moresca coat and pulling on the Damsel in this Dress bodice and wearing it with the skirt hiked up and (blue, shiny) bloomers and my boots underneath.

Ok totally jelous about the Damsel Bodice.  I have been eyeing that one for a while.  I plan on wearing my modest lday pirate garb to work.  Tall Toad Cavalier hat, long sleeve chemise and matching underskirt, my irish overdress, since I work for the government I an leaving the blades at home, and my ankle boots.

~le sigh~  If Only 'twere that easy for me.. They don't play the whole dress in a costume on Halloween game here at work... anymore.... I think I was one of the reasons they stopped doing it since the last year they allowed it, I showed up dressed in a very nice silk skirt blazer outfit with black hose and heels, full make-up, nails painted, hair done. (I think I made some of the women feel bad because I looked more femme than they did). :)  LOL

Sadly no one comes to my office in full costumes.  I am going to wear my elf ears this year, and if I feel really daring, I may wear a bodice over a normal work shirt.

The last 2 years I wore my vampire fangs.  That was fun, especially when near the end of the day people I had been talking with all day actually noticed them! :)

I'm one of very few who actually dress up and most of the others who do dress up do something basic like cats or hippies.  I always get compliments and stange looks. ;D   We've only been allowed to dress up for the last few years even though our parent company has always allowed costumes.

I could dress up if I wanted to, but I'm the only one here in my office so that's no fun  :( and the guys that work in the shop can't dress up (even if they wanted to) because of their work environment, they wear uniforms to keep from tearing up their own clothes and they can get pretty dirty.

I tried to have a Halloween party here once, but all they did was come in eat some food and then leave...nobody said anything...and I was left to clean up the mess... >:(
