Has anyone ordered from http://www.medievalcollectibles.com ? How did it go? I'm thinking about ordering a sword frog from them and like to be safe rather than sorry, so I thought I'd ask about them first.

I've never had much luck with them and found their Customer Service lacking and the product not the best but OK

A better bet would be Ravenswood leather http://www.ravenswoodleather.com/ As they are good and prompt when you call them up.

Another two I found that I was impressed with are Excalibur Leather http://www.excaliburleather.com/ and The Inner Bailey http://www.theinnerbailey.com/frogs.htm

You may pay a little more but the customer servise is well worth it on all three that I named above.

A'right; thank you. I was considering one on Ravenswood, so I'll probably get that instead.

Do you know how much shipping & handling is? I haven't found it anywhere on their site.

Capt Gabriela Fullpepper

The best thing to do would be to call them. They are on Pacific time and if I remember right 10 or 11 am there time is a good time to catch them. They should be able to tell you the shipping cost while on the phone.

I ordered some leather armor from them once.  I don't think I would order from them again.  I was getting the piece for a costume contest, and ordered in (what should have been) plenty of time to get it for the contest.  I waited the time they said it would take to ship, and I saw no sign of my package, and had not heard anything from them.  After several communications with them, both through email and their instant chat, I was finally told that there was a problem with the leather and they had to remake every leather item in their shop.  I finally got my armor over a month after the contest I ordered it for.  The workmanship seemed good, but it was many sizes too large for me. :(  It was a bit big on my husband, and he is close to a foot taller than I am.  There was nothing on their website to indicate size, but I suppose that's my fault for not inquiring before I orded it.

I haven't ordered from Ravenswood, but I know several people who have and they have been very happy with them.

A'right.

Now I'm trying to decide between two frogs - this one: http://www.ravenswoodleather.com/Frogs/angled.html and the "Sword Frog of the Circle" on http://www.theinnerbailey.com/frogs.htm . With shipping and handling, the second is about 50 cents more.

I'd suggest the frog from The Inner Bailey.  I've ordered multiple times from both Inner Bailey and Ravenswood, and I have to give the nod in quality to Inner Bailey.  Harold, who runs TIB, takes more time finishing his stuff than does Ravenswood.

Good luck with your shopping!

I have ordered from them a few times, for a theatre that I have worked with, and had no issues with the order or with returns.

Manwariel

Thank you for your input. I ordered the one from The Inner Bailey.

My sword frog came in the mail today (I almost spelled that "maille"  :P) and it's quite nice. I'd recommend them (The Inner Bailey).

In the future, if you want a quality product, I heartily recommend Dorsett House.

They will custom work in addtion to the listings on their website.
I have bought to for my husband from them, a black/nickel 6 buckle rapier hanger
in addition to a brown/brass one.
