"The Angel and the Ox" -- They're opening up this weekend near Westheimer and Peek.  The website's still not completely filled out, so don't know upcoming entertainment, but looks promising.

Checked the menu -- some promising looking things.  Checked the beverage list -- it started with Guinness, so didn't have to read any further.

Cool, a new place to hang out after I move!

It was crowded (as it was opening weekend), the service was slow (but, our waitress was nice!), and the recorded music was too loud.  But, they had Jed Marum and Hugh Morrison perform, too, and the food was good.  I give it a partial thumbs up.  I'd go back to retry it.

We've been twice so far -- opening weekend (when they ran out of food and had a very limited menu) and again about a week ago.  World of difference -- many kinks worked out, service still a little slow, not a complete menu yet (I need Bangers and Mash), but what they did have was really, really good.  Very crowded both times I went -- people standing waiting for tables.

Unending crowds must mean the area is starved for a neighborhood Celtic pub.  Is that the case for Katy?
