I've written a short piece about the Italian Renaissance camicia (chemise). There are stuff I want to elaborate, and things I need to add to the article eventually, but it's readable as it is now. I've tried to write about what extant camicias can tell us, and how they compare to various fashions/portraits. Problem is that the only surviving camicias are from late 1500, so he "analysis" is rather limited.

Still, enjoy!

There are also other articles online. Here are various links:

Are there other sites out there? Feel free to add them in this thread!

Great article--and great timing!  I'm just now pulling stuff together to recreate St. Catherine's camicia.  This is very helpful!

Thanks for that!!
