I'm seeking the advice of those who can sew and make garb.   :)

I have a Grey Cat Huntress Gown that I love but it just doesn't fit the same as it once did....and my body changed since I had the twins. I think it's too big...also I want to be, um, voluptous in this ensemble...and I think I still have all the necessary equipment.  ;)

any recommendations or suggestions as to what I tell my seamstress when I see her tomorrow?

My initial thought is taking it in a pinch in the waist. There must be some seams of some sort either in the side or back.  As it is now it looks rather straight-cut, so making the seams curve a bit in the waist/side might be the way to go.

Are you wanting her to make alterations to the current gown, or make a new one?

definitely alterations to the current gown.

Well, I agree: I think it is too big right now.  What I would do is pop it back on, inside out*, and see if you can pinch/pin out any of that excess at the side seams so that it fits you better.  Same thing at the straps.  What kind of boning is in there now?  It doesn't look like you need a ton of support from the bodice, but I'd at least make sure there's boning at the lacing edges (which, knowing Laura, I'm sure there is).

*(ok, it just occurred to me that the bodice is probably fully lined so you don't have any exposed seams inside, so you could probably just do this without turning it inside-out.)

Many thanks talented Ladies....I'm printing out your suggestions and taking them in with me this morning.  Yes, there is boning at the lacing edges.  Oh, how I wish I had these skills myself!  Thanks again.
