I am back and how I've missed everyone!

Anyodd, backin january the Queen Mary had a steam punk con and my guild was asked to come preform. It was my first event and I was playing Princess Alice. My goodness it was so fun. Just found out we've been asked back for next year :)

Haha I'll try not to disappear anymore! It was an amazing event!

This is from the ball they had that night, we were all dead tired so me and my "brother" kept making jokes back and forth to keep the energy going. It was so much fun, our queen was having fun trying to set people up and while I was sent to go mingle she had the prime minister fetch this absolutely GORGEOUS man I had been watching like a hawk for the past 2 days. I just about died when I saw him heading to the stage, he ended up trying to teach me how to dance alone on the top of the ship and it was perfect. That boy knew how to play his cards just right, I do however have a boyfriend so  a stolen kiss on the cheek was as far as that went! Frankly I was shocked he was interested, I knew he had spotted me gawking at him(....on multiple occasions) and he kept laughing at me everytime he'd catch me so I did not expect him to be attracted to me AT ALL! Made my freaking year, haha.

Here's a goofy video clip I am in.

I am at like 3:52 on this, Joe came up and asked for a picture when they were actually recording, funny thing is I had actually seen his channel about a week before and the entire time was thinking "he looks familiar" it wasn't till right when he kissed me that I realized who he was and what was happening! There's also a horrible interview with me somewhere but I was pretty damn tired so its just bad haha.

I want to start incorporating some copper tubing for some of the canes I make to have a more steampunk flavour. Any suggestions on keeping it polished? I'm going to keep it away from the handle so skin oils/perspiration will be a minimum. I'm afraid some sort of clear coat will get eventually get bumped and scratched. Just some car wax perhaps?

Auryn, wow. You are so creative.

Groomporter, this stuff looks promising. Claims to work well even on copper cookwear. Won't chip or crack. Non toxic. Never used it, but here's the link:

Love ALL your art, Auryn!  The bug-eyed goggles are so much fun!!!  :D

Groomporter, are you wanting the copper to stay bright and shiny?  I don't know about other people, but I love the look of old copper, after it's darkened.  It gives a piece the feeling of antiquity, as thought it's been handled for a really long time.  The copper wire I use is fairly old (I've had it for over 15 years, myself, and I got it used), and it's now starting to take on a wonderful aged appearance, and it darkens with handling, so that by the time I've finished a piece the copper itself is really beautiful.

Of course, that's just my preference...  :)
