Tamtaro

Is that a good thing or a bad thing?

Lord Argyl of Lochdubh

wouldn't you know right away if it's a bad thing ?
We are not now that strength which in old days
Moved earth and heaven, that which we are, we are---
One equal temper of heroic hearts,
Made weak by time and fate, but strong in will
To strive, to seek, to find, and not to yield.

laedyfaire

don't bad things sometimes appear to be sweet?

RefMom3

Sort of like, "Beware Greeks bearing gifts?"

laedyfaire

is it foolish and embarrassing to be tempted and fooled by sparkly junk?

RefMom3

Isn't temptation the purpose of the sparkly stuff?

laedyfaire

After giving in to the temptation, should I feel guilty?

RefMom3

Don't you think "should" is a really big word?

Lord Argyl of Lochdubh

wouldn't you find "should" is very necessary ?
We are not now that strength which in old days
Moved earth and heaven, that which we are, we are---
One equal temper of heroic hearts,
Made weak by time and fate, but strong in will
To strive, to seek, to find, and not to yield.

RefMom3

May I amend that from "very" to "occasionally?"

laedyfaire

you may amend , but if the person is fooled by false gifts, do they reciprocate and return the favor?

Lord Argyl of Lochdubh

We are not now that strength which in old days
Moved earth and heaven, that which we are, we are---
One equal temper of heroic hearts,
Made weak by time and fate, but strong in will
To strive, to seek, to find, and not to yield.

RefMom3

SHOULDn't etiquette rules generally apply?

Lord Argyl of Lochdubh

isn't it true that some people are just uncouth ?
We are not now that strength which in old days
Moved earth and heaven, that which we are, we are---
One equal temper of heroic hearts,
Made weak by time and fate, but strong in will
To strive, to seek, to find, and not to yield.

RefMom3

Have you ever heard the phrase, "He needs a quarter's worth of couth?"
