Wow!  2 days.  The last month has really rushed by. 
The weather sounds almost ideal for opening except for being a wee bit warm.  The last couple of years we had rain on opening and StudMuffin doesn't get along with rain.  One year it rained so bad he got stuck up to the fetlocks.  (Thanks again, Alex).  The lightly scattered showers that are forecast can be managed.
Looking forward to seeing everybody.  Swing by Phoenix Risen's campsite and say hello.  Or if you see StudMuffin in New Market, give a shout.  We're always happy to chat or bend an elbow.

It must be something about Open House...last year, it was emergency surgery...this year a stomach bug. 

Both times i was more worried about missing faire than how i felt...is that bad?

I remember two seasons ago, pulling in Opening Saturday about two minutes in front of one nasty monster thunderstorm.  It hit just as i was parking... and lo and behold, there you are, whipping Studmuffin for all that he was worth, with the heavens opened up right on top of us...

I wasn't about to hop out and say "Hi" as you rode past...

You know how it is, Merlin, we are keeping busy preparing for the opening cannon.  We have been searching for the Knights who say "Ni", seeking a virgin to appease the local dragon (harder than you think now a days), pondering which "adult" beverage to consume while drinking to the King's health, and generally trying not to forget anything important while preparing for the annual pilgrimage.
Besides, Fraser might get a bit testy if we keep stealing his thunder.

You know Keeper......As I have been called somewhat of a dragon many times in the past - yet ofttimes appearing as a jaded, rusty, old Knight - I don't believe virgins are on the menu. Nay, my friend! Lusty, bawdy wenches are more appeasing to a good dragon's appetite and pleasing to the palette. Just sayin'
