Let The Countdown Begin!

We too have branched out to other Faires. Since my crew is in Louisiana, we patron LARF, although we don't quite consider it home.  We tried out Avalon this last year and everyone seemed really nice. Of course, our original plan was to go to Four Winds, but we all know how that turned out. We try to plan our Faires around holidays so that we can stretch it out and take the extra time off. This next year, we are going to hit GCRF in Pensacola (day trip), Sherwood for Easter, and possibly Scarby at the end of April as a birthday bash.
I have heard a lot of negatives about TRF this year through the various groups I lurk in. But I say that Faire is what you make it. I love it...it is my happy place!

This is true.  My clan camps only on AHE, so I'll be there for that weekend...it wouldn't phase me at all to skip going inside and just chill, out in camp.  My problem is not the azzhattery that has been ongoing but the loss of the feeling i get when i walk inside.  It used to be like coming home...now it's like showing up at the In Laws...

According to the last weather forecast I saw, Black Friday looks pretty good, only 20% chance of scattered liquid sunshine.
If that holds, StudMuffin and I will be attending to get our last faire fix for the year.
Anyone who sees us riding by, give a shout hello.  Otherwise I may not see you as I will be fighting my horse to keep him from throwing me.  It is amazing how he gets more frisky after I have a few too many ales.  Wonder if there is a connection???

Aside from the 731.00 dollar fraud charge to Chicos womens clothing store I got Sunday afternoon on a card I hadn't used for weeks after buying drink tickets at that after dark thing Saturday night, the weekend was an otherwise fun time.  Not even pro thief enough to run a test charge, just full on balls out buy the whole store.

Glad I'm one of those anal retentive types with my finances and log into my accounts every day.

Yeah, there is a thief working for the company that runs that club. Figured I'd just mention it so that folks can be aware of it.  They couldn't have been more obvious about doing it either. A card I use maybe every six months gets used on a Saturday night and the following Sunday at 5pm, there is a 731.00 charge..

Definitely not the work of a criminal mastermind.

My brother got his card "scanned" at TRF last year...emptied his account and almost stuck him here.  Luckily his bank kicked him enough funds to make it back to OKC.

We had a card last year we used and afterwards someone tried to charge $300 something dollars to a hotel in Houston (we live about 120miles north of there) but our bank caught it as suspicious and froze the account so we didn't loose any money but had to wait 4weeks for a new card before we could access those funds. After that we just stick to cash only while there.

Well, with the looks of the weather, we won't be making it back this weekend.  Cold is one thing, cold & wet = miserable family...      I had really been looking forward to it....
