Where are the Festival grounds in relation to Houston?

With the catastrophic damage being done to Texas with Harvey, people are talking MONTHS before rebuilding infrastructure, homes, businesses, a Renaissance Festival may be the last thing on people's minds. The devestation is massive. More rain on the way.

Capt, I'm not able to post to comments on FB for last couple days (FB is going haywire).  Please know that I am thinking of you and the family and may the water rise only to lift the ship, not the house.

TRF is only 30 or so miles north of Houston. Guaranteed they received a lot of rain. I have friends that live near the site and I have not heard that they had any major flooding so I'll assume that the area is ok. There haven't been any reports of tornadic activity either. Most likely the faire will give people a needed break from the post storm stress.

Good morning to the Ship's elf. Sure hope you're staying high and dry as well. You know me, I avoid the facesmash as much as possible (o:  We are ok here so far. We've stayed higher than the rise and avoided the tornados up to this point. However, we still have 3 more days for us in Houston. We've been lucky that the rain bands are so broken up. There has been long enough breaks to let our area drain off before the next hard rain hits. We haven't left the house since Friday so I have no idea what the roads around us look like, but having been here for ten years I have a pretty good idea. So we'll just be staying put (o:

With all that is going on around Houston we still have to have hope and a reminder that better times are coming.

I still see some light sprinkles here in Sugar Land. But I think that for the most part we are through with the heavy stuff. I hope our neighbors to the east are prepared. Still a lot of high water around the area and I see the coast guard helicopters passing over heading out to the neighborhoods around the Brazos.

Latest report from the Weather Channel is that Harvey is back out in the Gulf of Mexico and heading back North then East of Houston. The rains are supposed to subside by Thursday they say. At least another 20 inches of rain is forecasted in and around the Houston area eastward.

Prayers go out to all affected. I made a donation to the American Red Cross to help in the Harvey recovery. So many people in need at this time.

Many thanks for the donation Lady K!  It will be much appreciated!   We are making it the best we can.   Thankfully we had plenty of food stored.   2 of our grocery stores opened up yesterday for a few hours and were packed to the point they had to stop people at the door & make them wait in line until some people left.   Both of the stores were closed today due to flooded roads and I suspect low stock.  No trucks can make it down this far,  we are basically stranded down here.   Even getting out of our neighborhood is difficult at times.  Our back room has lightly flooded 3 times since Friday.   Our office flooded Saturday night,  got around 6-8 inches but thankfully it drained out quickly so the damage isn't too bad.   It's hurting us more to have no business since Thursday.

I hope so!  Sadly in these times many people consider massage an extra.   I'm worried we will be slow for the next month.   We were just getting out of summer and school starting,  which is always slow. Hopefully business will pick up quickly so can afford faire!

Sorry to hear you got hit, Trill. :(

I'm not sure how we made it through but all is good at my end. A little seepage in a back room but other than that everything is ok.  People were riding jets skis last night, on my street, doing rescue mission and today it's clear.

The back half if my subdivision is still underwater and there are still high water rescue ops happening, nearby.
