Question on accessories

I was wondering if the foxtails had any meaning other than just an accessorizing.  Then do the colors/number have any meaning?   Sorry I'm just curious.

No need to apologize.  You can look to this thread (http://www.renaissancefestival.com/forums/index.php?topic=7057.0) for more in-depth answers, but I think everyone determined that they were just for fun, a faire tradition, not based on anything historical.

Sorry to get off topic but maybe there should be an FAQ for garb on here. I've lurked on the forums for over a year and have notice a number of questions being repeated so maybe it would help? Or maybe not, just a suggestion.

As for an answer to your question Jademozingo, I think most people just wear them for fun.
