Hullo all,

I hope this works.  This project got me motivated to find an image hosting service so I could shamelessly show it off.

This poor little purse started, I think, as somebody's unloved home ec project.  Now it's off to a world of new Rennish adventure.  Bag, tassels, and notions totaled $6.20 at the local thrift store.  Pats on the head will be rewarded with vigorous tail-wagging . . .

Garb: lovingly hand-washed, gently pressed, and hung in climate-controlled closet. Mundane clothing: usually on floor.

That came out really well. I wish I had the imagination to change something ready made into something fantastic for garb!

Nice work.  Great job on changing it.

Found some pics (by sobophoto) of the gown I made for myself for last year when I was pregnant.

Amanda, that's BEAUTIFUL!  You look composed and comfortable and lovely.  You should post that in the maternity garb threads!

LadyFae

Thanks Gem, I did put it in the pregnant at faire thread...  I'll have to find the maternity faireware thread!  =)

I made these for my sister and my oldest daughter.  Sister bought the chemise and changed the neckline this spring so it will be lower when she wears the gown next.  Actually, I think we posted a picture of it earlier...  My daughter's gown is "adjustable" for her as she grows.  So far she is just getting taller and skinnier though...

Lady DeLaney's Funky Pirate Coat is FINISHED!!! Inspired by Butterick Pattern 5142

The Original Design by Toki Bloodaxe

The finished Coat.

Sleeve detail with buttons. Gold swirl with pearl centers. Ordered from www.pillagedvillage.com I ordered a Gross of these buttons, which I will be using for another project coming up. Stay tuned. The bottom part of the sleeve was done separately by making slashes, then biding them. i hand stitched the inside, bound the bottom and top of the sleeve. Then attached to the upper sleeve cuff.

Cuff detail. The Gold Buttons on the cuff are also from Pillaged Village, though no longer available. I ordered a Gross of a substitute that will work just as well for Doublets, Pirate coats, etc.

The back of the coat with a free flowing skirt. Which I made longer because Lady DeLaney is tall. Should hit her mid thigh.

Now ont o a big project for Toki Bloodaxe.

Oh, GLORIOUS!! Can't wait to see the pix of Lady Delaney wearing it!

Can you tell us about the black fabric for the cuffs? With the little vine design?

The Black fabric I used for the cuffs and Collar is a Damask I found at my local Mill End Textiles outlet on a  whim when I was there a few months ago. Dummy me should have bought enough to make a gown with. But I didn't. My loss!!

I used the shiny side. The Dull side of the fabric was that...DULL!!!
