DOW is a fun idea to get behind. If you have a group at your local faire, it's simply idea is something done right in a wrong kind of way. Us women do elizabethan's in a different way

Adriana Rose

Is that some one dressed as Abby from NCIS?

I love that some one finally shared a day of wrong picture, we dont do it at my faire that i am aware of. You look so cute

Maggie Ann

Yes she would be Abby from NCIS. And thank you!

Lady Rebecca

The poodle skirt look turned out great!

Kate, knew you could do it!  Beautiful job!

Jessi, great start, please show pictures of them all when you wear them!  And just wait, if you keep up the sewing soon you'll be a pro!  The costumes suck you in saying....."sew me, you know you want to"!

So I'm not the only one who they talk to.  Very thankful not to be alone  ;D
May the stars always shine upon you and yours.

The Diva dress is DONE.  Red corduroy cape is sewn on, and the collar is now standing like I wanted it. I will want to rebind the arm holes with proper bias tape, but it is wearable.  If the audience can see the arm hole binding is a little wonky from 15 feet away, and under a cape, and she has a very deep neckline,  then I didn't do my job right at all.

This is not the best photo of the brides but it is the best one that our photographer has gotten of them.  I have some great shots myself but they are trapped on my camera :(
It is kind of strange watching your personal history become costume.

DragonWing

Very nice LS. What play is this?

Ooh, those are fab!  LOVE the collars!  ;D ;D

Diva certainly has the right teeth in...   ::)

And thank you everyone who appreciated the wedding stuff.  It was great to do.  MoB and my frock both cut and part sewn!

LadyStitch

Kate: You are so right about those teeth in more ways than one.  On a happy note she is over the moon about her dress . She loves it. She finally got her red. (She had demanded to have her dress be blood red at the start of pre-production.  We shot her down.  The cape is the only red she is allowed.)
The collars were underlined with white twill/drill. I wanted canvas but they didn't have white or even off white.  I used rigaline boning on them.  I think they turned out wonderful.  The fact each dress is machine washable has made the stage managers day.

Dragon:  It is Dracula. The dresses are for Lucy Westinra when she is a vampire, and the 3 brides of Dracula.

All in all this means starting this weekend I can start working on stuff for myself ( or the pink pirate) again.  yay!  ;D

I am really happy and proud of myself.  For the first time I did a whole outfit.  Nothing as extravagant as some of the beautiful ones I have seen on this list, but good enough for me to start.

I made a wench costume complete with bodice.  Once I can figure out how to post a picture I will do that.

I am so excited about this project and will really enjoy TRF this year knowing I made my own outfit and now have more money to spend at faire!

Rani Zemirah

Congratulations, Shelly!  It's always exciting to feel that sense of accomplishment when you realize you actually make something you're proud and happy to wear!  Can't wait to see your pics!  :)

Lady S, love the dresses, but I'm sorry you had such a horrible time with the you-know-what...  At least you're done now, and can work on some fun stuff for a while!

#2249
After years of promises to myself, I finally put the final few hand stitches into my Spanish ropa/Italian giornea/whatsit this week.  If the weather cooperates; i.e., is cool and dry, I'll wear it to TRF on Celtic Christmas weekend with my black Italian gown by Lady Kathleen.

Please pardon the mess.  I've got umpteen projects going on, haven't put away stuff from my Dallas trip yet, and haven't felt well enough to do some major housekeeping in a couple of weeks - migraines, ack.  Not to mention the torn rotator cuff on my good (well, not so good, now) arm.

Should I put a clasp on it?

Next up this weekend, finish the hem mods (same as on my red military jacket) to my mad scientist lab coat - WHEE!
