Taffy Saltwater

Wow, Kate!  Beautiful!  I don't have anything nearly that gorgeous, but here's a underbust corselet (26 or 27 bones - I lost count, spiral & straight steels & some zip ties) that's done except for the grommeting.  I think the next big project I do will be an actual Vic corset.

Oh, Taffy... that's gorgeous!!!  I LOVE it!

Oh, Taffy, that's great!  I love the lace.  Where did you find it?  (For my next Big Frock extravaganza I'll need lace like that.  Musketeers!  Cavaliers and Roundheads!)

Imestra

99% positive Jo Ann's carries Taffy's lace in 2 sizes both white & off-white.

Want-want just don't know what for, yet.

And Taffy - that purple fabric is sooo pretty!  Where did you find it?
We are all of us in the gutters, but some of us are lookin at the stars

LadyShadow

Love that purple. Beautiful work.
May the stars always shine upon you and yours.

Royal Order of Landsharks Guppy # 98 :)

Thank yew - thank yew very much!  I think the lace came from Joann's; the purple came from a local store called The Whole Nine Yards.  It runs like $17/yd, making it much too pricey for me to do anything more than a small project w/it.  (but I have enough left to make a wrist bag)
Sveethot!

The 17th c gown is done! The brooch is just a stand-in, though.

And here is a knife pleated petticoat:

I also crocheted a couple pairs of mitts.

Kate XXXXXX

I still love this gown!  And the mittens...

CenturiesSewing

Two layers of cotton duck, one layer of red cotton sateen (standing in for silk). All hand sewn with black silk thread, hand sewn eyelets with matching cotton floss. Boned with thin cable ties, and busk that started its life as a paint stick. Pattern is my usual bodice block.

Inside shot! My stitching is anything but neat at times. I can always add a thin lining to cover it.

The boyfriend didn't exactly lace me in right.  ???

Lady Catherine
