Lady Kathleen of Olmsted

I hear you, gem!

I have another order for a Pirate Coat from the client I just made one for in Dark Gtrey Corduroy who wants one in a Charcoal Wool Flannel. If I find some at SR Harris, I will have to let you know.

We were off to Bristol today in my creations that I have been working on this last month. Weather was outstanding so we were actually able to get some pictures without everyone looking "wilted". LOL

Bodice and matching belt pouch are green silk damask; bodice is Simplicity 3809.  Chemise is crinkle gauze, no pattern, next time I will make longer sleeves.  Overskirt is a three-panel simple gathered skirt, no pattern. Underskirt (brown, not pictured) is 6-panel gored to reduce some bulk.  Flat hat is the first hat I ever attempted, gold damask. I posted the belt pouch in the crafting section.

My husband, George in his olive green jerkin/doublet (not sure what the correct term is... pattern says doublet) and renaissance shirt, both from Simplicity pattern 4059, along with twill pants, no pattern.

Lovely day!

Striking, Dragonwing. Are those red feathers at the top of the shoulders?

Very handsome Dragonwing!  The doublet is quite striking also.  Good work!

Me too, it really stands out. Bravo!

DragonWing

Thank you all. @ Soultice, yes those are red feathers. To those who like the fabric it is flocked nylon. It got a bit warm to wear,  ::) and I knew this before hand. I just liked the fabric to much for the look I wanted. Thankfully I was wearing a cotton shirt.
Again thank you.
Season just started here at MDRF so I have a couple more to show off. Will post them as we go along.

As a fellow MDRF person, have you considered a tissue linen shirt?  Sometimes you do have to go with the poly/acetate/some sort of dead dino fabric because it looks *right* -like in your case it looks perfect.  However, I've found wearing linen beneath my acetate brocade gowns helps a lot with the cooling.  (In October, go with a heavier linen or a cotton since it will be warmer.)

I am trying to stay with natural fibers for the shirts. The shirt I am wearing the picture is linen sleeves and yoke with cotton muslin lower body. It really helped that it was cotten. I want to make a black linen shirt for it soon to up the drama factor. LOL.   But thank you isabelladangelo for the tip.  ;)
