LOVE the wee fairie dress!  That is pretty much what I was envisioning for her!!!!  =D  How about making her a hat that looks like a giant pin cushion?

I actually am making this bonnet out of scrap fabric so it is all pitch patch like the dress.  Then do scalloped appliques, or the like on it.  I'll be working on it tomorrow.
It is kind of strange watching your personal history become costume.

I <3 the white Tudor gown and the pink little girl's dress is adorable.

My latest creation:

It's very hard to see the details on my Titanic dress but there is a lot of beading on the front and a lot of couching on the bodice and the black overskirt. Really, all you can see here are the colors and the lines - but that should give you the idea, at least!

Evie McCann

Isabella, that is lovely. I'm very fond of those colors and your shoes are to die for.

Partlet in black organza-Picture is kind of dark, but it was the only way to photograph black organza without that crazy kalidoscope effect.

My new caul was made of a scrap of leftover silk from my forepart, with a velveteen headband, overlaid with black grosgrain ribbon with gold beads and jet.

The lace is studded with gold beads every 1.5 ".  The lacing tips end with a gold metallic bead on top of an amber crystal drop.

   Thank You!
NRF is second week of May.  I still need to hem the forepart, petticoat and overskirt and make some matching lace cuffs for my chemise.   I still need a hatband for the Tall Toad hat.
I hope it looks as good as I want it to.

The 17th Century Project isd finished. Now onto to Lady Delaney and Toki Bloodaxe's projects and the Tudor gown for Lady Kett's daughter.

There are over 50 buttons on the Doublet alone.

I managed to find a Burnt Orange Ribbon for the Sleeve ties that blend well with the Cloak lining.

Closeup  of the buttons. The cording I used for the loops can be hardly seen it blends so well with the fabric.

Styles in the early 17th Century showed a getting away from paned slops to looser fitting  pants, Doublets hitting above the waist, and larger waist treatments. What one would call more the Cavalier look.

Now back to cutting out.

I've been faire-ly busy lately (see what I did there?  LOL)...Here are two of the projects I have finished.  The first is a pirate coat for a friend's 2 yr old daughter who's Dad is in a pirate group that performs at renaissance faires. (If you know who I am talking about, don't tell them, the coat is a surprise...and they aren't on this forum)  It still needs buttons once I find some I like just so.  I had to eyeball the pattern from the Simplicity "POTC" coat down to size...guess that art degree does come in handy.

The second is a tabard for my sweetie based on the Paolucci family crest.  His family lore is that his surname of Palmer was Americanized at Ellis Island from the Italian Paolucci.  Not sure how they got Palmer out of that, but....hey.
I'm not fat, it's just that a skinny body couldn't hold ALL THIS PERSONALITY! ;)
