My latest doublet.  The trim is showing more red here, but it is really a berryish red color.  The blue skirt is actually waiting to be a full kirtle when it grows up.   :D

Very nice color combination of colors.

Opps somehow I didn't paste the light side.

LadyShadow

Syrilla that is absolutely beautiful.   I hope that when I sew one it will look that wonderful.
May the stars always shine upon you and yours.

I finished my maroon Elizabethan!  I removed the gold trim and went with the same velvet I used on the cuffs and guards.  In these two pictures, I've added some embellishments in 2 different ways - which is better?  I still need to press the underskirt, which is a green/gold silk dupioni and adjust one of the hoops.  This is my Renaissance outfit for Reenactor Fest.

Syrilla

Very lovely, the velvet is a great addition.

I like the one on the right because of the pin placement.  The left one is directly on your breast and looks as though it's "holding" something in place.  Also the cross seems to get lost agains the richly colored fabric.

*gown is fabulous!!!*

Nothing clever to say here.  Not enough caffine yet.

Sveethot!

Haha!  Very nice, snivelous!  :)  Where are you planning to where it, if I may ask?

At the very least, the Half Blood Prince opening night; possibly Halloween weekend at TRF.  The neighborhood kids love me at Halloween.  And don't call me Snivelous!

now that dratted song is stuck in my head

That's basic spelling that every woman ought to know."

That's going to be cool.  However, be warned.  If many people present haven't read the final book, you may get popcorn thrown at you at HBP opening.   :o  Snape doesn't score many popularity points in this one, you know.  ;)

Hope you do decide to wear it to TRF.  I love Hogwarts.  I've wanted to dress as Prof. Trelawney or McGonagall for Halloween.

LaurenLee, I really like your Elizabethan gown... the next thing on my list is to make a doublet with the high neck like yours and the buttons up the front in black velvet for my sister.  I do like the black velvet additions also!!

I made a brand new black/white Elizabethan gown myself in january and will post pics after I've worn it to Fourwinds opening weekend.  I can't wait to see it all on together, I've not even taken pics of it at all since I always like to see the finished product on first!
