Cilean, I was just being sarcastic, I love the contact high of reading what everyone else gets  ;D

So I went to see the lady about the trims from craigslist yesterday. I literally held my breath. She walked me into a room about 15x15 covered wall to wall with trims.

I bought some gorgeous stuff. I actually got a couple of rolls that are seriously 1 foot across- easily 100yds.
So I might be posting them to sell parts of the rolls cause I have no idea what to do with so much of the same trim.

I went to Joanne's today - got off work early.  Bought 4 yards of red, 4 yards of hunter green, and 4 yards of sage green plus the matching threads to make 3 skirts.    The first 2 were on sale, the last one wasn't, so I used the 40% off coupon.  The material was called bottom-weight, and it said it was good for skirts, pants, and capris.  Plus I had a 10% off coupon for the total order, so I spent around $50.

I will take my cousin back on Sunday, because she wants a 99 cent pattern and some material for yoga pants.  I have 2 more 40% off coupons plus another 10% off the whole order.  I will probably look for some material for something for Steve, not sure what yet.

So I will be spending this winter learning to sew.   ;D

I have been in the process of cleaning up my basement, organizing my stuff to make more room. I filled and labeled 8 clear tubs with fabrics. I need a few more tubs. Not to mention the 8 bags of useless scraps I had. Talk about a fabricholic who also happens to be a packrat!!!

Hi!  My name is Betty and I am a fabricholic.
Having applied the 12 step program I have been able to keep my fabricholism under control, but just stumbled across Calontir Trim and am now having a severe setback with trimholism.
It is good to be in such good company.  :)

Lady Kathleen of Olmsted

Not only Calontir Trims, Betty, but a beautiful array of trims from www.pillagedvillage.com

That's where I order a lot of trims, buttons, aglets, clasps, and other items needed for garb making. These add to the Pack Rat syndrome I suffer from as well as from fabricholicism.

I have promised my husband that I will do my very best to not buy any more fabric before faire this year. He does understand my fabricholism enough to know that sometimes I can't contain myself if it's on sale. But my goal is to stay out of the fabric store as much as possible. I have six totes and two boxes of fabric here at our apartment and two more totes of it at my mom's. I just bought four yards each of purple and blue smooth corduroy for bodices, but that was using gift cards I received for my birthday. Then I found 3 curtain panels and a dust ruffle of scrumptious wine colored cotton velvet at Goodwill for only $11.00. I don't know what I'll do with it but it was too good to pass up. Although I will try to control my fabricholism, I must say that I'm planning on making all of this year's garb with just fabric from my stash. And most of it was bought on sale so I think I have acted wisely to save us money. Once it's all done I think hubby will be more understanding about my fabricholism.

It's like when my mom and I would go shopping for clothing.  You have to have new shoes to with your new clothing.  Mom and I wear the same size.  We would buy say 2 pair of shoes for four outfits.  As opposed to four pair of shoes.  We saved dad a lot of money that way! ;)

Do curtains and table cloths actually count as "fabric"? :D

I just had to share my amazing finds with people who would understand  ;D

Last week, while I was still home in Dallas on winter break, at Hancock's I found this really pretty teal 100% cotton velveteen on clearance for 3.50 a yard.  Unfortunately they only had 2 and 2/3 of a yard, so I snatched it all up.  I looked at all the other Hancock's in the area and could find no more.  And then this week, back in Oklahoma City for university, I went to the Hancock's here, pretty much without hope... and they had 9 yards!  Still at $3.50/yd!  So I bought all of it.

Also, the Walmart up here is getting rid of their fabric department (which is sad, because they have the best price on duck cloth) so everything is 75% off!  Got about 12 yards of fabric, and 17 yards of trim for only about $15 all together!

Needless to say, I am currently a very, very, very happy girl!
